A man in Forth Worth, Tex., was forced to defend himself and his children from an enraged motorist as they were driving down I-35 on June 25, 2021. The man and his family were riding in their SUV, when a motorcycle tried to cut lanes in traffic. The man did not see the motorcycle when he went to change lanes and cut it off. The rider of the motorcycle sped up after this and cut off the SUV, before coming to a stop in the middle of the highway.

The 19-year old rider then pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the occupants of the SUV. The man pleaded with the youth to drop the gun. When the rider kept pointing the pistol, the man then drew his own handgun and shot the rider in the chest and stomach four times. The rider also fired back, but didn't hit anything. The stricken road-rage motorcyclist was taken to a local medical center, when he later died of his wounds. (fox4news.com, Fort Worth, Tex., 06/16/2021)

From the Armed Citizen® Archives - October 1991

Describing her attacker as a man who had once been "one of the family," Juliette Blackmon, 81, of Kansas City, Mo., was forced to take action when he tried to rob them. After asking to use the bathroom, the man instead grabbed a knife from the kitchen and threatened her and her husband, Elliot. Elliot picked up a pistol from the bedroom, however, and passed it to his wife. Firing twice, she killed the man. "I had to do it," she said. "I'm a Christian woman, but we have to have protection." (The Star, Kansas City, Kans.)
