Police continue to investigate after a woman was shot and killed in north St. Louis just before 3 p.m. Saturday along Lexington Avenue. When police arrived on scene they found 34-year-old Victoria McBee had been shot in the head. She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. Two suspects fled in a sedan after shots were fired.

Police are also investigating a murder in the Penrose neighborhood of north St. Louis, just a few blocks away from the other shooting. This shooting happened around 7:30 a.m. Saturday at North Kingshighway and Margaretta Avenue. Police say 58-year-old Chester Stokes was shot and killed.

An infant was grazed by a bullet during a triple shooting in the Lewis Place neighborhood Saturday just before 6:00 p.m. Police say a man, woman and infant were shot in the 4600 block of Vernon.

The three victims were taken to a hospital by a private car. The infant had a graze wound to his head and was listed in stable condition. The woman was listed in stable condition and the man was shot in the back but he has been listed in stable condition as well.

The investigation has found that the man, woman and infant were seated inside of a parked car when the suspects fired shots from a dark-colored SUV. The man then drove everyone to the hospital.

Police said another man, unrelated to the other victims, was also injured during the shooting on Vernon.

With three months left in the year we’ve already surpassed the 194 homicides in all of 2019 and the 186 homicides in 2018.
