ST. LOUIS – St. Louis homicide detectives are investigating the shooting of a 14-year-old in the 400 block of Bates Street at around 8:45 pm Tuesday night.  The teen was suffering from several gunshot wounds when officers arrived on the scene.

Police say that the teen got into an argument with two other people. One of them took his firearm out and shot the teen.  A witness then returned fire as the suspects fled in a vehicle.

The 14-year-old shooting victim was taken to the hospital by EMS. He is listed in critical condition.

The suspects are described by police as:

  • Black male, 15 to 22-years old, 5’6” to 5’7”, 215 to 230 lbs., dark complexion, short black, dreadlocks, wearing a blue jacket and grey jogging pants.
  •  Black Male, 18 to 25-years old, 6’0” to 6’2”, 150 to 160 lbs., dark complexion, long black dreadlocks, wearing a white shirt, black jacket, and black sweatpants.
