The live-action Beauty and the Beast is not hitting theaters until next year, but behind-the-scenes photos of the cast reveals a first look at some of the classic film’s most beloved characters, including the candlestick and clock duo Cogsworth and Lumiere.
After a short teaser video featuring Emma Watson as Belle was officially released by Disney, the film’s co-producer, Jack Morrissey, posted pictures via Facebook giving a behind-the-scenes look of the cast, including Luke Evans (Gaston) Josh Gad (LeFou) and Dan Stevens (the Prince/Beast).
A Twitter user from Ireland, under the handle @maconodom, first leaked the photos online, which Morrissey then posted to his Facebook account days later.
“Here’s a fine piece of concept art of Ewan McGregor as Lumiere and Ian McKellen as Cogsworth,” Morrissey wrote on Facebook. “These designs are close but may not be final.”
According to Morrissey’s FB post, the photos are part of a “sneak peek” of the live-action film that will be featured as part of the animated Beauty and the Beast 25th anniversary Blu-ray DVD releasing in September.
Morrissey also shared a photo of Luke Evans and Josh Gad rehearsing a musical number as Gaston and LeFou, respectively.
The Bill Condon-directed retelling of the Disney animated classic also stars Kevin Kline, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Audra McDonald and Emma Thompson. Beauty and the Beast is slated to hit theaters on March 17, 2017.
