Rangers exit concern around Jack Butland with clubs circling

Jack Butland exit worry develops at Rangers with clubs circling ‘phenomenal’ Ibrox star

Derek Ferguson admits he is starting to worry about the possibility that Jack Butland will leave Rangers in the summer.

The Ibrox keeper has excelled since his free transfer arrival from Crystal Palace but, having not categorically ruled out a return to England, the door is open for his stay in Glasgow to end after a season.

Ferguson believes clubs are circling around the 31-year-old and accepts there may be factors involved that makes a move the right option for him, even though he appears a good match for the Light Blues.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News he said: “It’s so hard to gauge. Listen, what he does get is I think he gets Rangers, he enjoys playing up here in Scotland, he loves playing for the club.

“But when there’s other teams, maybe down south as we know, that are interested it might be better for him financially.

“We don’t know his situation with his family, maybe they would prefer to be down south, these are all questions we don’t know, we’re not privy to.

“But there seems to be a lot of clubs circling at the moment, and he’s not come out and said he’s definitely going to be with Rangers next season so you start to worry a little.

“Because he’s been phenomenal up here, he’s up for the player of the year up here, and with his performances he’s been absolutely brilliant.

Philippe Clement to lose Rangers stand-out this summer?

Clement Rangers
Philippe Clement will have a big gap to fill at Rangers if Jack Butland leaves.

Butland is a certain starter for Rangers as long as he’s fit and has provided a reassuring platform throughout an up and down season.

It would take significant money to make it worth it for the club to let him go unless he asks to return to the Premier League, and it would leave Philippe Clement with a huge job of replacing him.

Realistically there will be offers, as there was in January, but while the club’s hopes are quite easily deduced, the former Manchester United loanee’s plans are less certain.

In other Rangers news, another star man could be allowed to leave for around £4million this summer.
