It's important that the murder investigation of Isaac Payton Sweat be re-opened.

On June 23, 1990 Ikey was gunned down by his estranged wife of a contact gun shot wound to the left temple. He had filed for divorce from his wife and had an upcoming show with one of his heroes, George Jones that he was preparing for. There is NO WAY that Ike shot himself as he was on the precipice of achieving the success that he had worked decades for. He had an upcoming big show, a new recording contract and was also working on new material. This is not the sound of someone who was despondent and put a bullet in his left temple. He was right handed. He was also in love with someone else. Everything in this case points to Ike being shot in a jealous rage by his estranged wife. 

This murder case has stalled in the hands of the Fort Bend County District Attorney for far too long (24 years) while the only other person present at the scene of the shooting is free to live and breathe. This is a GREAT injustice.  
The circumstances surrounding the shooting gave great pause to the Fort Bend County Investigators at the time but the case was never brought to trial and ruled to be a suicide reportedly due to lack of evidence. It is outrageous that family,friends and fans lost a tremendous talent who was outlaw country before there was outlaw country. We have been unable to find peace and closure since it happened and we won't stop seeking justice for Ikey. 

If the Fort bend County DA does not find it in it's interest to bring the case to justice then we would at least like to have a change of venue so that the family can have their day in court and let a jury of Sharon's peers decide.
