'World-class' Liverpool player is now set to miss Manchester United game next weekend

According to the latest reports, Liverpool will have a ‘world-class’ player missing the game against Manchester United.

Ever since that defeat before the international break at Old Trafford in the FA Cup, Liverpool will have been desperate to bounce back.

This international break has probably seemingly stretched on for a lot longer because of that blow at Old Trafford. However, the wait is not far away now. Liverpool will be back in action on Sunday, and taking on Brighton in the Premier League.

That game is going to be hugely important for Liverpool, as will the following game against Sheffield United at Anfield next Thursday. However, the match everyone is looking forward to is next Sunday’s return to Old Trafford.

It will be a game that could decide Liverpool’s fate in the Premier League title race. It will also be a perfect opportunity for Liverpool to strike revenge.

However, ahead of the match, one Liverpool player, who Jermaine Defoe has recently described as ‘world-class’ has reportedly been ruled out of action.

The latest report on Trent Alexander-Arnold and when he could return

Yesterday, Jurgen Klopp seemed optimistic about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s return to action. The Liverpool full-back has missed 13 of Liverpool’s 19 matches in this calendar year so far.

Already he has missed more games than any other previous season for Liverpool. Earlier reports, though seemed optimistic that he could return from injury to play against Manchester United. However, those reports have been quashed by The Athletic.

According to The Athletic, Alexander-Arnold is expected to miss the Manchester United game. The earliest he could return to action for Liverpool is against Atalanta in the Europa League on April 11th, or the game against Crystal Palace in the Premier League three days later.

What Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injury means to Liverpool

Not having Alexander-Arnold back for the Manchester United game is a huge blow for Liverpool. He is a world-class talent, and he is someone who can make the difference on the pitch.

Thankfully, Conor Bradley has been an astute cover in his absence, so it’s not all doom and gloom.

However, Liverpool will hope the right-back can return to action as soon as possible. Alexander-Arnold is essential to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool team. Having him back in the side will be a major boost.
