Very nice atmosphere and good food. Great place to celebrate special occasion. Parking a concern but they do offer valet service.

Food was outstanding! Service exemplary! however because it was our anniversary a party of 6 was reseated so uncomfortably close to our table the wait staff could not even serve us our dishes without reaching over to us & us reaching to retrieve. It unfortunately put a damper on the atmosphere
Gandy Dancer is not the cheapest restaurant, bit having said that, the food is excellent and worth every penny. The staff is friendly, efficient and on the ball. The setting is the old railway station, old world and intimate. Tables near the tracks get to see the occasional local train pass.
It's the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.
I’ve been here several times over the last 25 years and it’s never good. I always go back to see if it’s improved because it’s so popular in Ann Arbor, a town with great dining options. I cannot figure out why. The food is always off: either cooked to much/little, too salty/bland, etc. Last time, the rice appeared to be cafeteria style instant rice. We had a family banquet here and nobody was particularly pleased with their meal. (Also, we were sat upstairs, which lacks the charm of the restaurant below.) I have heard from sources I trust that they serve a great brunch but I’ve never been. The Gandy Dancer’s redeeming trait is the building itself. It couldn’t be more beautiful. It’s in the historic train station and is lovely inside and out and has a charming outdoor patio.
Went to dinner on a very rainy day. Valet parking was great and made the experience so much better as we did not have to look for a parking spot and did not get wet from the downpour. Food was delicious, especially the lobster and crispy duck. Enjoyed watching the train pass by.
