It's lovely to see in both daylight and when it's lit up at night. I actually walked across it from the Cincy side to the Covington, KY side. It's a fairly easy walk, as you just need to do a set of stairs to get up to the main platform area. I was able to see a riverboat passing underneath the bridge while I was walking on it. Many locals use the walkways (found on both sides of the bridge) for walking/jogging/bicycling. Moderate number of stairs to access walkway on either side. Wide walkways. Minimal vibration when traffic goes by. Amazing view. Wonderful green areas on the OH side, large murals on KY side tell history of area. Their was a baseball game ending so it was fun to see so many happy fans. The bridge is very cool, similar in style to my favorite Brooklyn Bridge. The murals under the Bridge are excellent also. Sister bridge to the Brooklyn Bridge, designed by the same architect/engineer. Pretty riverfront Park, lots of trails. In a nicer part of downtown, close to restaurants and the Freedom Center. Lots of parking nearby—they are currently building a new parking garage. Honestly, this is as impressive as the Brooklyn bridge, even if it is a little smaller. Nice, wide pedestrian path on both sides to walk/run, and easily accessible from either side of the river. There are a lot of cars that pass, so there is a “whoosh” and “hum” you’ll hear. It’s worth a detour to see.

Nice views of Cincinnati Few American cities can claim a landmark as distinctive as Cincinnati's Suspension Bridge. The Covington and Cincinnati Bridge,in 1984 renamed after designer John A. Roebling, and all the while called by locals simply "The Suspension Bridge", has been a symbol of the city since its completion in 1866. Images of the bridge are seen today in all parts of the city hanging in homes, offices, restaurants, bars,waiting rooms, and as backdrops for the local television news.
It’s more than just a nostalgic decoration, the old bridge remains an important river crossing for thousands of cars and buses each day. The bridge opened to pedestrians in 1866, and the 1,057ft. main span was at that time the longest in the world. Not only was the Cincinnati Suspension Bridge the world's longest, but it was the first to utilize both vertical suspenders and diagonal stays.
Unfortunately it is now closed to traffybut we can walk across.

Built in 1866, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time. The architect John A Roebling is the same architect of the Brooklyn Bridge which opened 20 years later. The bridge is open to pedestrians, and it provided a cool experience to cross over to the Kentucky side of the river and back with great views of the Ohio River and the Cincinnati skyline. Several restaurants and bars are available for food and drinks in Covington, Kentucky after making the crossing

We were on the Ohio side at the waterfront and was able to ride those electric scooters to the other side of the bridge and back. It was fun to say that you walked (well we rode scooters) from one state to another. Lots of foot traffic.

An apparent Cincinnati landmark, about a quarter-mile long that connects Ohio to Kentucky over the Ohio River.
I jogged it (from Cincy OH to Covington KY) along the pedestrian walkway while the regular bridge itself (the traffic part) was closed for repairs - and not sure how long it's been closed.
There are apparently no other pedestrian routes over the Ohio River, so I was forced to cross and return on the same bridge.
There's a lot of history to this bridge - apparently Roebling designed it way back when prior to taking his skills over to Brooklyn to build a bridge there. But don't take my word I can be wrong, look it up. But visit the bridge if you're in Ohio!

This is an architecturally beautiful bridge built by the same designer that later did the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC. It's lovely to see in both daylight and when it's lit up at night. I actually walked across it from the Cincy side to the Covington, KY side. It's a fairly easy walk, as you just need to do a set of stairs to get up to the main platform area. John Roebling created several bridges and aqueducts in his lifetime. This bridge, opened in December 1866, is the oldest still in service, 20 years before the Brooklyn Bridge was built. It is as sound today as it was over 150 years ago. It is an amazing piece of engineering. A must see in Cincinnati.

Please take some time to treat yourself to this amazing architectural wonder!
As many have said, this is easily comparable to the Brooklyn Bridge in New York, even if smaller in comparison. The Roebling was constructed only 20 years before the Brooklyn Bridge, and is more impressive in may opinion.
The Roebling will be closing to traffic for restoration for 9 months. Being able to drive across the bridge is really cool. Not many still let you do this, let alone the oldest suspension bridge in the US! So temporarily stopping traffic for the wellbeing of this architectural landmark, well, I'm OK with it.
You'll have plenty of picture opportunities along the way as well, so be prepared to fill your phone!

When the weather is clear the views are stunning! Great 20-30 minute walk across, with taking pictures in between. You can park on either side of bridge and easy access to it. You can get beautiful pictures from either side.

I thought the best pictures I got were from the Kentucky side of the bridge so you could see the Cincinnati skyline, the walk across the bridge isn’t too far.

It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to walk across and the walkway is separated from the traffic lanes by metal and brick. Completely safe

There is a public parking area behind Molly Malone's restaurant just up the street from the Covington end of the bridge. It is filled on weekdays from 9-5...but in the evenings or weekends there is plenty of parking.

While the parking is more challenging on Cincinnati's side the are garages or lots right off Pete Rose Way with the bridge in between. Sometimes, depending on the day you can sneak over and park on the tarmac at Paul Brown Stadium (shhhhh).

The bridge is approximately a half mile long from Newport Kentucky to Cincinnati. There is pedestrian access from either side as well as parking (metered or surface lot). It is a nice walk and is a pedestrian only bridge now but once carried the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, a roadway and two streetcar lines. The main span over the river is 550' long. Takes about 20 min to cross one way and there are a few benches along the way.

There is plenty of parking on both sides of the river. On the Cincinnati side there are numerous parking garages that allow you to park for up to 1 hour for $1. Many lots are as low as $7 for up to 2 hours as well. All of downtown is easily walkable to the bridge. I like taking pictures from Smale park and while walking on the bridge itself. If you have time Moerlein has a restaurant right along the river that offers nice views of the bridge. They have a balcony that you could easily get great shots from.
