Nick Carter was just 12 years old when he auditioned for a new singing group in Tampa, Florida. Though Nick Carter and his wife Lauren Kitt Carter, a personal trainer and YouTuber, struggled with fertility problems, today the two are proud parents of three young kids: 4-year-old Odin, 2-year-old Saoirse, and 9-month-old Pearl. It's quite the full house, as they also have a pair of hairless cats running around with their brood. Nick is often seen posting pictures of his toddlers in the backseat of his car with sweet captions like, "Nothing makes me happier than picking up my kids from school. 🥰 " It seems he's really enjoying life out of the spotlight!
5 Nick Carter Is Still Touring With The Backstreet Boys
Don't get it twisted - the Backstreet Boys are by no means a defunct boy band. As the most successful boy band of all time, they've outlasted the others who have reigned for a few years and then faded from the spotlight. Their most recent album DNA was released in 2019 and they were deep in the DNA tour when COVID hit the U.S. in March 2020, putting a pause on their show dates. Backstreet Boys Nick Carter and AJ McLean and *NSYNC members Joey Fatone and Lance Bass delighted Los Angeles Pride audiences with a BackSync show last June, and more and more events and engagements have been put on the calendar since then. 3 Nick Carter Is Staying Fit
He may not be dancing as much these days, but Nick Carter is staying in shape as he settles into his 40s. With a wife who's a personal trainer, he has to stay fit if he wants to keep up! Nick's Instagram features many pics of his home gym and workout activities, including lifting weights and doing cardio with his personal trainer. He's got to stay in shape to keep doing those classic killer Backstreet Boys dance moves!
2 Nick Carter Is Committed To His Sobriety
Nick Carter's struggle with alcoholism and addiction was widely publicized while he was one of the biggest stars in the world in the early '00s. As the Backstreet Boys were enjoying huge success, Nick was struggling privately with marijuana and ecstasy use that soon gave way to cocaine and prescription pill addiction. In 2002, he was arrested after getting into a brawl at a bar, followed by a DUI arrest in 2005. With the help of his BSB band mates, he got sober. He credits his wife Lauren with helping him stay clean, and his kids undoubtedly serve as the best reminder to him of why he is staying away from drugs and alcohol these days.
1 Nick Carter Is Not In Touch With His Mother Or Brother Very Much
Nick Carter came from a rough childhood, growing up in a home with parents who were constantly screaming at each other and violent with one another. He has had a lot of battles with his family over the years, especially with his younger brother and former child star Aaron Carter, against whom Nick was granted a restraining order in 2019 after Aaron threatened to kill Nick's wife who was pregnant at the time. Now, he's not in touch with Aaron and neither of the two brothers (nor Aaron's twin sister Angel) are in touch with their estranged mother. Another sister, Leslie, died in 2012 from an overdose. With such a tough family background, it's great to see that Nick is finding familial love in the family he's creating with his wife Lauren and their children.
