Last Port of Embarkation in MDAC

The Malysia Digital Arrival Card (https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main?registerMain) has a question requires one to specify the "Last Port of Embarkation". What would this be if I were to travel from Melbourne, Australia to KL with a connecting flight at Singapore (not going through immigration/ exiting the airport)? Thanks. The "contact us" link in MDAC does not appear to be working.

Melbourne

Are you intending to use the autogate (still need verification of your biometrics when you arrive) ? Otherwise, you don’t have to fill this form.

The MDAC card is an arrival card for entry into Malaysia. So how can the Last Port of Embarkation be Malaysia? It has to be a foreign country.

@Bharath, just click/tap on the field (set to Singapore) and select the country.

Although Malaysia is listed as one of the options, the form is asking about the last country you exiting before entering Malaysia, so it should be a foreign country other than Malaysia.

Your profile location is currently set to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Are you planning to do a visa run?

Hello,

I am from India, travelling to Krabi via Kuala Lumpur. I have 2 below queries:-

1. Is MDAC required if you are transiting only through Malayasia?

2. Recently Malaysia declared visa-free for Indians, so will i still need a transit visa for this travel?

Any inputs/thoughts about this is highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Preeti

@Preeti, which airlines are you flying with? Are your flights booked on the same ticket or are they booked separately?

1. If your flights are booked together on the same ticket, you can transit airside without passing through immigration, hence MDAC is not needed. If your flights are booked separately, you have to pass through immigration and MDAC submission is required.

2. Starting 1 December 2023, Indian nationals do not need a visa to visit or transit Malaysia.
