Steve K The episode entitled "Treehouse" is exceptionally bad. Bottom line: good horror can contain SJW trope, but it's not effective if it's dripping with it and so poorly written and blatant that it makes the whole thing silly and comical. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/11/21 Full Review Audience Member Some stories could have benefit of being shorter; but overall it's a great collection of scary movies to binge watch at night! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Sascha H In general, the show is actually good. But I doubt whether the series can really be called horror. It's more of a crazy feminist mystery series. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/14/21 Full Review brad p Promising Yearlong Horror Anthology Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Sam S DON'T SEE DOWN. Down was the most simple piece of trash that has ever come to horror. The characters were basic as was the plot. The run time being padded with them doing stupid things without thinking of it through as a normal person would. It had me yelling but not with joy, more of yelling at how dense and simple minded these characters are. Anne Cohen Refinery29 Doesn't have to stretch the truth all that much in order to achieve the kind of nightmare-ish immigration scenario that will have you questioning how patriotic you're feeling... Jul 8, 2019 Full Review Lorraine Ali Los Angeles Times If only this horror anthology was more, well, horrifying. As is, Into the Dark is more chill than chilling. Oct 5, 2018 Full Review Jonathon Wilson Ready Steady Cut The payoff for wading through it all is hardly worth the effort. Rated: 2/5 Feb 27, 2021 Full Review Anne Brodie What She Said Low brow chills for the morbid. Apr 12, 2019 Full Review John Serba Decider There's enough comedy in the first half and rousing feminist energy in the second half of 'Treehouse' to inspire a recommendation. Mar 18, 2019 Full Review Tim Stevens Comicsverse A slow start made me concerned that this Hulu/Blumhouse effort would end up a mediocre quickly forgotten curio. However, if Into the Dark can build on the momentum and attitude of Pooka!, I think they can create some fascinating efforts. Dec 13, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews
