Despite many previous trips to Paris, this was the first time I'd been to the Pantheon. It is a very impressive monument with a crypt containing tombs of many prominent French citizens including Rousseau, Dumas and Zola. I did not book tickets in advance and there was just a five-minute wait to enter, the main hold-up being the security check.

Ganesh Irissane helped me a lot. He was of great service. He needs a big pay rise! He went beyond everything that was asked of him. I wish him well. He is a top guy. I appreciated his help a lot. He put a personal touch on an experience that could have been quite sterile.

This is a worthwhile place to visit in Paris for a number of reasons. One, it is a physically beautiful edifice both inside and out. Two, it is the final resting place for dozens of important Frenchmen and Frenchwomen. Three, its interior still retains vestiges of the church it was (Eglise Ste Genevieve). Four, the view from the cupola is wonderful (extra charge though). Five, it contains fabulous paintings and frescoes. Finally, it stands as a testament to the country of contrasts that France remains: a modern, secular state with a long, intriguing and often volatile history; a nation upon which centuries of religious turmoil, revolution, war, victory and defeat, glory and shame, triumph and tragedy, have all left an indelible mark. Where else would one find wall sized paintings of Joan of Arc steps away from a monument glorifying the godless National Convention of the revolution? The greatest irony for me was that this converted church, this secular building, this temple of republican ideals, is adorned at its peak with what?..... a cross.

There was no wait time with the Paris Museum Pass. It is an interesting building, with the Foucault's pendulum taking the center stage. The crypt below is interesting with many notable scientists buried there. It takes about an hour to see everything.

The Pantheon was one of our favourite attractions in Paris. There was quite a long queue due to only allowing a certain number of people in a time. We also booked the dome too which they give you a set time for. The pantheon has some interactive information panels. It was very interesting seeing and reading about Foucault's pendulum. There is also a crypt to visit with the tombs of Marie Curie, Victor Hugo and other famous French figures. The tour of the Dome had some fantastic views and there were information boards pointing out the different landmarks. I would definitely recommend here to anybody visiting Paris.

Enjoyed going to the Pantheon, would recommend going once. The staff were all very nice. The audio guide is worth it as it has a lot of info, although had no earbuds so you constantly have to hold it up to your ear like a phone, it gets a tad tiring. The crypt was solemn and it was nice to pay my respects. Marie Curie and Victor Hugo are both laid to rest there, along with many others. I'd recommend spending 2hrs tops at the Pantheon.

My son (16) and I enjoyed the Pantheon. This was my 4th time to Paris and his first. I bought tickets about 2 months in advance. The Pantheon contains the tombs of Marie and Pierre Curie, Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas, and Voltaire. (Paris-pantheon.fr). There are also beautiful paintings of Joan of Arc, Charlemagne being crowned by the Pope, and many more. A definite must see for history and art lovers.
