Good
Project Manager (Current Employee) - Netherland, FL - April 8, 2024
Good overall employer, good work-life balance, good salary, good job opportunities. internationally oriented, sustainability is high on the agenda. A lot of politics, you need to know how to play the game in order to have impact and be successful (like in most big companies though)

Jobs at ING
Relaxed Environment
Lead Engineer (Current Employee) - Amsterdam, NY - January 5, 2024
good place to work if you want t a stable work/life balance. however you might get bored to death with all the bureaucracy and too much politics happening all over the company.

Fixed Income Specialist, Repo Settlements (Former Employee) - New York, NY - April 12, 2023
Like any bank, we are busy but always got the job done and management was always in top of everything and the most enjoyable part is that we all worked together as a team.
Pros
Being able to come to work everyday and be a part of a fantastic place to work.
Cons
There were none.

Ambiente de trabajo excepcional, medidas de conciliación y flexibilidad laboral muy interesantes. Retos profesionales
Debt Agencies Coordinator (Current Employee) - Madrid, AL - February 26, 2023
Desde el primer momento en ING me sentí muy acogida, con una sensación verdadera de trabajo en equipo. Tuve por delante un trabajo muy retador y un cambio en la cultura de trabajo que me hizo crecer como profesional y también como compañero.
Pros
cultura de empresa, agilismo.
Cons
Limitación de trabajo desde el extranjero

Great place to work!
HR Business Partner Lead (Former Employee) - Amsterdam - September 26, 2022
Working in ING for 18 years - across India, Spain and The Netherlands gave me not just all round experience but also a really firm grounding in the profession of Human Resources. Within ING the HR profession was always at the cutting edge of market developments and being an HR Business Partner meant I was directly involved in the implementation of these best practices in the businesses I supported.

Worked at ING as a temp
Benefit Analyst (Former Employee) - Jacksonville, FL - September 11, 2022
Decent company. As a temp I was working to close out pension that were being discontinued. Job was fine and ING permanent employees were mostly fair to work with. However, we were micro managed and monitored like a piecework factory position. Had there effeciency managers literally sitting behind us with a stopwatch to see how long a process took. Position ended with zero notice as well.

Good Place To Work
Business Analyst (Former Employee) - Hartford, CT - September 7, 2022
Enjoyed my time at ING. My manager was a good leader and mentor. They acquired Aetna Financial and treated us well. Good benefits and generous PTO.

Nice company overall
Retirement Plan Specialist (Former Employee) - Quincy, MA - March 3, 2022
Not a bad place to work. When we had down time we could leave and go volunteer at a local charity. Management was very laid back but very helpful. Hardest part was some plans where more invasive than others.

Solid knowledge of Life products
Life Sales (Former Employee) - Minneapolis, MN - November 21, 2021
Great company to learn about financial products and hone your sales and persuasive skills. Management sent the company down the drain by investing in excessive mortgage-backed securities, lack of creativity and forward-looking to market changes.
Pros
Solid knowledge of Life products
Cons
Lack of appreciation, finger-pointing.

the low point of my career
[not stated] (Former Employee) - amsterdam - October 19, 2021
working daily with outdated systems/technologies, and outdated mindsets. hierarchical - your ideas or experiences external to ING are not welcome, just do what you are told. Diversity/inclusion are low on the agenda, little (senior) leadership communication on this and it is reflected in the culture of the organisation. ING pays well - that's why people stay, but that's a disincentive to ever look for a new job, even if you are unhappy. As a result many employees demotivated, cynical, jaded etc. For those who want to make their mark and are passionate about what they do this is a stifling environment, even toxic.
Pros
more than fair work/life balance
Cons
negative pension plan, expensive medical plan (even with employee discount - cheaper to look elsewhere and choose your own)

Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) - New York, NY - June 3, 2021
Nepotism was a real problems years back. Not sure if that has been addressed. Like anywhere else, it depends who you work for as far as managers. Some are much betters than others. Benefits were good when I was there 10 years ago.
Pros
Good benefits
Cons
Management is eh.

Dead end career
Vice President (Current Employee) - Amsterdam, NY - April 15, 2021
If you like mediocracy, please join this firm. The company culture is great if you don't want to make a career and appreciate the median. Management is worse and cost cutting is there all the time
