The worst bank and services ever

One star is too much for them. 22 years being customer of ING and now I am just done. There is some credit card check limit, where they are checking if I am married and having kids but not considering my husband income. Suddenly my salary is not enough to have small limit on my credit card. Out of the blue they are blocking my card, where I am paying interest if needed and never missed any payment. Called 3 times rude customer service where I heard that for bank only earning money are important and not people. Waiting time more than 20 min, in the middle of conversation someone just disconnected me. I needed to call again and again waiting. I provided all information and then 2 days latter received message, that I have refused to share my info. What a nonsense. The worst service ever, really.

Poor servive and long waiting time

Very poor service. From the promised 2/4 waiting days it became to 2 weeks waiting for some decision. Nobody respons on the mails. There is nobody who can help while having a phone call. A consultant was finishing conversation with words: I wish you good luck and try to send another mail. I’m in dramatic life situation but when my case will be finally solved first thing which I will do will be closing my bank account by ING.

ING is my go-to bank!

ING has been my go-to bank as long as I can remember. The UI is extremely simple and clear, they help you with saving money, call-service is always within reach. Online shopping is also really easy I can’t recall any time I had a difficulty making an online purchase.

ING is discriminatating their clients

ING is discriminatating their clients based on their country of origin. They focus more on customers nationality than their service to their clients where deducting monthly amount for their useless service. I wonder why discrimination office in Netherlands never take this serious. Very disappointing

The worst bank I’ve ever used. ING is a money-eating bank!

THINK TWICE before you open the account. ING’s app is literally useless. I couldn’t login with my password and identification documents. Contacting customer service didn’t help at all, I still couldn’t access to my own account. Afterwards, this bank just closed my account without notifying me, with my deposit in it! I contacted again to the customer support, asking them transferred my remaining money to my another bank account. The funny thing is, the employee typed my name wrong and the money transfer couldn't go through. The employee asked me to transfer the money back and I was the one who should responsible for all handling fees. I asked my bank to wire the money back, and there was no action from ING! My money just disappeared! Even though I contacted them many times, there was no response. ING is a money-eating bank! I've never used such a bad bank.

Try another bank

+ Good phone application

- DO NOT TRUST IT ONLINE! If there is a questionable transaction (no matter from creditcard or debitcard), you will most likely never see that money again! Even though, you provide more that sufficient proofs that the online shop misused you creditcard or debitcard, ING does not care! For online shopping (or even for normal daily accounts), try other banks and keep your money in a safe place!

They seem to not realise there is an internet

One month of waiting I still have no access to my account and am getting emails from ING wondering why I haven't paid them out of an account they refuse to give me access to.

Basically they send three letters, the card, the login to the app and the card pin. As they lost all three of my cards, I ordered another card expecting the other docs to be in the one letter (makes sense right? should be an email anyway)

Either way the service centers are useless as they can't even give you the pin to your card to activate or even your login credentials.

So basically 1/4 things sent to me have arrived and I am waiting on two more. With this success rate I expect to be up and running in another month.

Why not just send an email? Every other bank I have dealt with inside and outside of Europe seems to have figured this out, why not you ING?

Terrible banking system

Terrible banking system. You will never have any flexibility. Even I have my mortgage there and paid 60k they don't give me more than 50 euros limit credit card, rejected my requests for loan etc. Go to any other bank but this. I also needed money and I asked them to cancel my extra payment I paid for my mortgage but they told me they can not cancel the transaction. Both accounts are in ING. They are ridiculous. I need money a lot and they put me in a really bad position.

Unreliable, poor service

Tried to cancel my account but couldn't because of an issue in their portal, spent more than 1 day (infinite loops of useless chat bots, phone choice menus) before I was able to get in contact with an actual person.

The reason why I cancelled was the (at one point even weekly) outages. Their app and payment service were too unreliable.

Monthly Subscription that offers nothing

The bank that requires you to pay for nothing, their basic package that offers nothing of actual practical use case that you are required to pay as long as you have an account. During the time I was using it I got switched over to a paid plan without any sort of warning and from that point on I was required to pay 2 or 3 euros as a bare-bones minimal plan. So over the couple years or so that I was using their services somewhere in the middle I just started losing money thanks to ING I would prefer to have gotten robbed.

Worse bank ever excited!

Worse bank ever excited!
It's been hours now I'm trying to chat with anyone that could help me, instead, they write their first message, asking me to take some time to reread the old messages and leave the chat.
I have had so many issues with this bank and their services and products, wondering how are you still standing as a bank.
Absolutely disgusting.

I cannot get my money back

If I could give it 0 stars I would!
I opened a spaardeposito by mistake, I have been trying to close it for over a month and every time I'm told they sent the request and it will take five days. Spoiler: it doesn't.
I can't talk to a manager or anyone that can do anything about it, apart from sending the request. They have my money blocked and they are not giving it back. Horrible service, horrible bank. As soon as I get them back I will change bank

Canceling a business account is not…

Canceling a business account is not possible through their website. Tried several times, costing me a lot of time, at the end of the process it looks like it's canceled. After calling them it seems they have not received any cancelation. Finally they did send a form to fill by email. After an other week waiting still no confirmation, horrible contact person on the phone and ING charged again an other month costs. Last year closing an other account at ING costed 4 months, loads of mails and telephone calls. Don't fall into their trap (hands)

Worse bank you can find

Worse bank you can find. I opened up an account 8 years ago in Luxembourg. I am now forced to close it by the incredible fees applied to any transaction. I did transfer some money to my niece and for no reason, as they claim it was refused although IBAN correct, they applied 2 times 25 euros fee for “rejected transfer”. I immediately decided to close my accounts…no need to have my bank sucking my blood!

Horrible horrible customer service

This bank suddenly decided after banking with them for 40 years, after having moved to the UAE since 12 years, that they want to know how much money I own, all my assets etc, in an attempt to stop money laundering and criminal activity, which they are indirectly accusing me of.
Even though this already really pissed me off as it is a severe invasion of my privacy I answered their questionnaires only to find new questions. If I send an email to clarify or ask questions, there is no response. They choose to 'misunderstand' information. I am suddenly a 'risk' to them, because I told them that there is no income tax in the UAE and now they think I am not paying my taxes. So I am getting threats that they will close my account and make sure I can't have another account in the country. LIKE SERIOUSLY!!! I have never done anything criminal in my life and I deserve so much better. Ow, and their ' chat' function? They just leave the chat or tell you to call them from abroad. Be wiser than me and bank somewhere else.

insultating, nanny-ing yet not delivering. every single time

atrocious, arrogant, poor quality of the english language in their written communications. never delivering yet extremely annoying borderline insulting the customer. to day there was/is no access to bank statements. phoned them, persisted as they try to fob you off by telling you to chat to them via the app.
when i finally got to speak to somebody she managed to stay away for 11 minutes only to come back with the message that i had to try again later and via the app please. i-am-going-to-finally-cancel- this horrible bank.

Dutch ING dont protect their creditcard users

More than 30 years Dutch ING account holder with an expensive creditcard. I had to discontinue the creditcard after makesyoufluent refused to refund after I realised within a day that their product was worse. But also did not anwser my questions to stop further billing. The Dutch ING also did not want to prevent further billing, so I had to cancel. Worse customer service, I took weeks to hear an answer from them.

Poor services

Quite unhappy with this bank. It's a nightmare to even activate the app, their system does not read non dutch passports, with a consequent investment of considerable time without any benefit. Their IT systems are clearly outdated, given that they can't even manage to read a passport. They don't even say what to do in case it does not work, so I am a bit lost right now. I would recommend abn-amro to expats instead of ing.
