The annual global revenue of the ten highest grossing independent movies has been fluctuating over the past decade. After reaching its lowest value yet in 2020, independents recorded an all-time high two years later with a box office revenue of 1.26 billion U.S. dollars. In 2022, major hit "Everything Everywhere All At Once" was awarded seven Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actress.
