We use checks. We have three seprate branches of government. The Three Branches balance each other, so no one is stronger than the other.

Jobs for Executive Branch
The President is responsible for implementing and enforcing the law written be congress. Appoints the heads of the federal agencies, including the cabinet. The president has the power to negative and sign treaties,which also must by two-thirds of the senate. The President can issue executive orders, which direct executive officers or clarify and further exsisting laws. The president also has unlimited power to extend pardons and clemencies for federal crimes except in cases of impeachment.
Balance Of Power:
The president balances congress by: veto power, If a bill is vetoed then it does not become a law. Although congress may overide a veto with two-thirds vote of both houses. The Executive Branch conducts diplomacy with other nations.
Qualifications for the presidency
President must be 35 years of age. Be a natural born citizen. Must have lived in the United States for 14 years.

Senate
Upper house. Two members from each state. Elected for six years.
Qualifications of Senate
Senators must be 30 years of age. U.S. Citizen for at least nine years. Resident of state they represent.
