      Critics Consensus

Led by Stellan Skarsgård's hangdog charm, In Order of Disappearance is a wintry thriller with satisfying intelligence -- and more than a few dark laughs.

Tirdad Derakhshani Philadelphia Inquirer Swift, fleet-of-foot, and efficient, with clean lines and a sleek finish, the Norwegian black comedy In Order of Disappearance glides through the world like a perfectly engineered car or a gorgeous piece of modern furniture. Rated: 3.5/4 Sep 8, 2016 Full Review Peter Keough Boston Globe Combines black comedy with the dour, humorless mood of Nordic noir - two elements that are not, for Moland at any rate, as complementary as one might expect. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 8, 2016 Full Review Michael O'Sullivan Washington Post What saves it, paradoxically - even, at times, delightfully - from skidding off course into cliche is the profound appeal of its middle-of-the-road, but never dull, protagonist. Rated: 3/4 Sep 1, 2016 Full Review Dan Brightmore NME (New Musical Express) A delirious climax pays homage to '90s thrillers and will leave you with an incredulous smile on your face. Rated: 4/5 May 26, 2021 Full Review Josh Goller Spectrum Culture In Order of Disappearance allows light enough moments to make this more than just a blood-soaked action thriller. Rated: 3.25/5 Jul 20, 2019 Full Review Daniel Barnes Dare Daniel The film shoots for Fargo and winds up with Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead. Shoulda made that left turn at Truth or Consequences, N.M. Rated: 2/5 Apr 5, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Fong Kok Hoong F The Norwegian title Kraftidioten means "The Moron" whilst the English title suggests a cheekier take to the body count marked by a death card with name and his religious symbol in this frigidly comedic and supercool Fargo-esque revenge drama about a bereaved snowplow driver bent on avenging the death of his son in the underworld gang warfare. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/02/23 Full Review Andy B A slick and entertaining black humoured thriller. Slightly one-note by the rather contrived ending, but a good film. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/28/23 Full Review Paul H I loved this movie. Extremely funny, great acting, and fantastic story. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Fantastic movie, great performances would recommend Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Gianmarco R Really very nice and particular movie with a plot that makes you think as well as entertain and at times entertain for some parts a bit absurd and some conjunction of slightly strange characters. The whole film, however, always maintains a very harsh and austere atmosphere that makes it very special. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/12/22 Full Review Audience Member Gentle paced. Starts off as a gangster flick then gradually you realise you're watching a dark, dark comedy. Thoroughly enjoyed this. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/30/20 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
