Acts Reducing Professionals Immigration
o 1976 Health Professional Educational Assistance Act
• Alien physicians/surgeons must pass a National Board of Medical Examination exam, or have an equivalent visa to apply to enter US
o 1977 Eilberg Act
• Employers have to file an application, and receive a certificate for each alien employed. Also have to prove that they were unable to recruit a US citizen
