      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

While the cast is outstanding and the special effects are top-notch, the latest installment of the Spidey saga suffers from an unfocused narrative and an overabundance of characters.

Xavier very much enjoyed this, although I feel too much was cut out from a certain character's back story Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/07/22 Full Review Audience Member Sloppy, aimless, and lame except for a few great scenes. They didn't even get the death of Gwen right -- it made Spidey look incompetent instead of arrogant. And what was that ending? Sesame Street science fiction?! It just shows that Spidey still hasn't grown up much, giving him attitude and dialog more suited to Deadpool. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/19/24 Full Review Legendarioreyyt No es tan mala pero si es muy inferior a la primera de the amazing spiderman. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/15/24 Full Review Líder7reynier à This sequel is bad but not too much it has awesome effects Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/05/24 Full Review Jaden's T The amazing Spider-Man two is absolutely garbage. Harry looks like goblin with a messed up face is Andrew kept telling Gwen to leave, but no Gwen didn't listen how did she deserve to die P Andrew you deserved something better better than that piece of garbage who didn't even listen to you Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/01/24 Full Review Spar B Me gusto la película le he visto casi 20 veces el final entristece mucho Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/01/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

David Sims The Atlantic Over-stuffed with plot and consequently struggles to invest the audience in any of it, since there's so much to get through and so many future films and spinoffs to set up. Sep 22, 2016 Full Review Jason Bailey Flavorwire 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' will certainly make a bazillion dollars, but after you sit through it - all 142 minutes of it - it's very hard to work up a compelling reason that it needed to exist, aside from the aforementioned bazillion dollars. Jun 18, 2016 Full Review Anthony Lane New Yorker Despite the efforts of Electro, the franchise is running shockingly low on juice. May 5, 2014 Full Review Patrick Cavanaugh The Wolfman Cometh Despite the charm and chemistry between the two leads, this attempt to reinvent the series fails to ever justify its own existence. Rated: 2/5 Sep 20, 2023 Full Review Cory Woodroof For the Win (USA Today) While The Amazing Spider-Man 2 isn’t that much of an improvement over its predecessor, Jamie Foxx’s Electro (and the craft that accompanied it) was a big boost over how the first film used its villain. Jun 20, 2023 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies Several of the film’s components work really well while others drag the film down or hinder the storytelling. Perhaps the biggest problem is that the movie tries to cram in too much story and too many characters. Rated: 2/5 Aug 19, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews
