From Season 3 Has Many Questions To Answer

For Instance, Why Did The Boy In White Push Tabitha?

The biggest question that season 3 needs to answer is what happened to Tabitha Matthews (Catalina Sandino Moreno). At the end of From season 2, the Boy in White (Vox Smith) pushed her out of the lighthouse, and when she woke, she was in a hospital, seemingly having returned to the outside world. Season 3 needs to address whether she is actually back in the outside world or if this is another trick the town is playing on her. If she has returned to the outside world, this raises more questions about how Boyd, Bakta, and the others can escape.

As for the Boy in White, he has appeared helpful to the characters at times, but at other times, he seems more nefarious. Whether he meant to help or hurt Tabitha when he pushed her is integral to understanding his intentions and his true nature. Only certain individuals in the town, including Tabitha, Victor (Scott McCord), and Sara Myers (Avery Konrad), have been able to see him, and he has appeared as the Boy in White ever since Victor first saw him years ago.

From: What Are The Monsters & What Do They Want?

The monsters of From are still something of an enigma, but the show has provided several clues to their identity and the nature of the town.

Season 2 left plenty of other questions, from the symbol Jade (David Alpay) kept seeing to the significance of the bottle tree that has appeared throughout the series. There are also the larger questions of why these specific characters are trapped in the town, why the town won't let them leave, the monsters that emerge at night, and the mystical forces at work that are scarier than the monsters. Not all the larger questions will be answered in From season 3, but there are definitely some answers and more compelling questions ahead.

Why From Is One Of TV's Best Horror/Sci-Fi Shows Right Now?

Boyd looks on with the towns people in From

From has jump scares and moments featuring gore, but the true terror is the psychological toll the town takes on its denizens, which was amplified further in season 2.

Between King bringing more attention to From and the quality of the show itself, the MGM+ series has cemented itself as one of the best shows currently airing in the horror and science-fiction genres. The cold open in the very first episode establishes how the show handles horror so well, with a feeling of anxious dread hanging over the town, and presenting the monsters as both a psychological and tangible threat. From has jump scares and moments featuring gore, but the true terror is the psychological toll the town takes on its denizens, which was amplified further in season 2.

As a sci-fi series, From provides clear rules for how things work in the town, from the behaviors of the monsters and how to keep them at bay, to more practical details such as how the town gets its food when it is cut off from the outside world. New locations and pieces of information are gradually revealed and built upon what has already been established to answer some questions while also adding further mystery and intrigue.

Most importantly, From ensures that the story remains character-driven and never loses sight of its characters among the various mysteries and horror. The show takes the time to get viewers invested in Boyd, Tabitha, Sara, and the rest of the cast, making their individual struggles and development feel just as important as solving the larger mysteries about the town, the monsters, and the more nefarious forces in play. Few shows can balance their characters so seamlessly with a high-concept plot featuring compelling elements of the horror and science-fiction genres.

All episodes of From are streaming on MGM+. Season 1 is included with Prime Video, and season 2 is available on Prime Video for purchase or via an MGM+ subscription.
