Tobermory in May, also night sky?

Hey all! We were thinking of visiting Tobermory somewhere near early May to get a break from the busting cities. I was looking into an inn (with BBQ) just a bit outside the entrance into town, is there a good night sky if we just sit out in the yard knowing we are near some restaurants and such? I'm not asking for milky way or northern lights, just a good sky full of stars (you only get like, 10 max stars in the cities if you squint your eyes hard enough) we really don't want to travel too far in the dark to the special spots or camp.

Also since it's probably too cold to actually get into the water, we might just do more hiking and sightseeing; any trails you guys would recommend to people that don't normally exercise too much? I don't mind walking for hours or slight climbs just nothing too hardcore.

Sorry for asking so much questions, I've never done something like this before knowing how much I want to. We are traveling by car from Waterloo Region, any recommendations along the way would be super appreciated!

Thank you so much!

Hopefully this link works for hiking trails https://tobermory.com/do-see/outdoors-adventures/hiking-trails

If not simply google hiking Tobemory. The Bruce Trail offers many options and this page lists 2 hikes that are 6 km.

Here's another hiking link that I found on google: https://www.explore-mag.com/10-Gorgeous-Hikes-in-Bruce-Peninsula-National-Park

You should plan to visit the Grotto at Bruce National Park, visit their website for instructions on pre-booking (not sure if required to pre-book in early May).

If the timing works for lunch or dinner on your drive there or back you can stop at Kettle's Back Home Cooking for a home made restaurant meal, not fancy but the food is good and plentiful.
