David Goyer, 95, Anderson, passed away March 25, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
He was born Sept. 14, 1921, in Greentown, to Vergil and Venus Goyer. The family farmed around Kokomo. With six children they moved to Anderson for work. David graduated from Anderson High School.
David knew no strangers. He worked at Anderson Mattress for 20 years, then retired from General Motors after 30 years.
He married Jeannie Hope of Gadsten, Ala., on April 18, 2008. He and Jeannie shared an amazing love story. They moved back to Anderson and found wonderful neighbors and friends at church. David enjoyed good friends at Ed Martin Auto in Anderson. Lambert's Music Center always relied on David to fix their sewing machines.
David is survived by his wife, Jeannie; stepchildren, David (Brenda) Hope, Jerry (Janet) Hope, and Allen Hope, all of Alabama; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces, Sharon (Doug) Robinson, Joyce (Mark) O'Neil, and Karen (Dan) Kotlowski; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great- nieces and great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith; and siblings, Jean and Paul Jarvis, Marilyn Catt, Joanne Smith, Thomas Goyer, William Goyer, and Jack Goyer.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Thursday.
