Leeds United: Farke tipped to make Kamara call v Blackburn

Leeds United: Daniel Farke tipped to make ‘strong’ Glen Kamara decision v Blackburn Rovers

There is a “strong possibility” Leeds United midfielder Glen Kamara will be axed by Daniel Farke for the Whites’ clash with Blackburn Rovers, according to Dom Howson.

Leeds welcome John Eustace’s side to Elland Road on Saturday (13 April) as they look to end a two-game winless run in the Championship and get their promotion push back on track as they eye an immediate return to the Premier League.

While Farke has stuck with a fairly settled midfield pairing for much of the season, Leeds Live journalist Howson believes the German could be set to drop Kamara to the bench and instead star Archie Gray alongside Ilia Gruev.

Writing for Leeds Live on Friday (12 April) he said: “Glen Kamara has struggled to impose his will in the centre of late so there is a strong possibility he could be replaced in the middle of the park by Gray.

“Farke is likely to keep faith with Ilia Gruev, who has also not been at his best in April.”

Who will Daniel Farke start for Leeds United against Blackburn Rovers at Elland Road?

While Farke doesn’t tend to make many changes to his Leeds United squad week by week, it feels as though the German has to begin to rotate his midfield after a difficult couple of weeks at Elland Road.

Kamara has been excellent since arriving at Leeds this summer, but his performance levels have dropped off ever so slightly since the March international break and it might be best for him and the club if he gets a much-needed rest against Blackburn.

Gray has enjoyed an excellent breakthrough season at Elland Road and while the majority of his football has been played at right-back, he has shown in the FA Cup this term he is capable of flourishing at the heart of the side.

Hopefully, no matter who Farke starts on Saturday, the Whites will manage to find a way to claim all three points. With the race for promotion heating up with each passing week, Leeds cannot let their standards slip now.
