Top 10 Most Popular Trailers of 2018 on IGN

There are few things better than a great trailer to get us -- and you, our audience! -- hyped about an upcoming movie, game or TV show. With 2018 coming to a close, we thought it would be fun to look back at the trailers that got the most eyeballs across IGN's various platforms.

Pulling data from our YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and, of course, IGN.com videos, we compiled a list of the 10 trailers that got the most combined viewed across those five platforms. It's a somewhat surprising mix of titles, but offers a pretty good snapshot of the properties that struck 2018 the most. (This data was compiled on Dec. 30th.)

Dragon Ball Super: Broly (Trailer 1) - 14.3 million views

This exclusive trailer that IGN debuted at San Diego Comic-Con was apparently exactly what our audience was dying to see, proving to us just how excited everyone is about the first canon appearance of Broly.

Detective Pikachu - 13.1 million views

Detective Pikachu's first trailer seemed to surpass everyone's expectations, which is probably why it racked up so many views.

Hellboy - 9.1 million views

Rounding out the year with a bang, the first look at Lionsgate's new Hellboy proved to be just the thing our audience wanted to see, though they still can't agree if they love Ron Perlman's take or David Harbour's take more.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly (Trailer 3) - 8 million views

Like with the first Dragon Ball Super: Broly trailer, our viewers ate up the third trailer for the upcoming movie, which showed Vegeta going Super Saiyan God.

Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies - Darkest Shore Trailer - 6.2 million views

IGN's audience was especially hyped for the new look at the new Zombies map.

The Lion King - 5.7 million views

Disney dropped a surprise The Lion King trailer on Thanksgiving, more than a year after the footage first debuted at D23, and clearly the wait was worth it!

Mortal Kombat 11 - 5.6 million views

This surprise Game Awards announcement was an overnight hit on IGN platforms.

The Meg - 5.1 million views

Yes, really -- the Jason Statham shark movie! The Meg's trailer was something IGN's viewers needed to see to believe.

Slender Man - 4.8 million views

This exclusive trailer started off the year with a hit, as audiences wanted to see the first look at the live-action interpretation of urban myth Slender Man.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (Trailer 2/Super Bowl Spot) - 4.5 million views

The Super Bowl trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was heavy on the dinos, action and suspense, which proved to be a winning combination for IGN viewers!
