Idris Elba and his wife, Sabrina Dowhre Elba, are past the recommended quarantine period and feeling alright after the couple tested positive for coronavirus.

“We’re both doing OK," Elba, 47, said in a video posted to Twitter Tuesday. “Still asymptomatic and we’ve passed the quarantine period but we’re a little bit stuck in limbo. We can’t get a flight back home so we just have to sit still for a little bit. But other than that, we’re OK and we’re so thankful for that. I think the worst of it is probably past.”

The Londoner, who was shooting a project in New Mexico at the time he was diagnosed, admitted he was initially fearful that he “was definitely going to see the worst of it, as an asthmatic, but thankfully, I came through. And you can too.”

Now that the couple is feeling OK physically, they’re contending with quarantine itself.

“It’s weird because I never sit still. I never sit still,” said Elba, who starred in HBO’s “The Wire” and in the film “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.”

“Sabrina never sits still either and I think she’s finding it harder, she’s getting cabin fever," he added. "But we’re both good. Mentally just trying to stay optimistic. I hope you guys are too, man, keeping yourselves sane and not being too worried and too panicked.”

Last week, Elba tweeted, “Sab and I still feel ok so far with no changes. Dr told us that after quarantine we will be immune for a certain time since our antibodies fought this.”

The “Dark Tower” star initially revealed his diagnosis on March 16, saying in a Twitter video that, “It sucks,” but he felt “OK.”

After Dhowre Elba, 29, appeared in the video with her husband before she was diagnosed, some on social media accused the couple of being irresponsible due to the easy transmission of the virus, which causes the illness COVID-19, but Elba quickly defended his wife.

“Just for clarification, Sabrina wanted to be by my side,” he said in a live Twitter Q&A, adding the couple considered staying apart but she decided against it. “I love her even more for it and I would do the same for her.”

On March 22, Dhowre Elba told Oprah Winfrey that his wife had tested positive but was “not surprised” given the exposure to her husband.

As of Wednesday morning, more than 877,000 cases of the virus and more than 43,000 deaths were confirmed worldwide, according to the running tally by Johns Hopkins University & Medicine’s Coronavirus Resource Center.
