“I’m a father of two boys, and definitely I can’t wait for my youngest to see this film,” the actor, 48, told ET Canada, referring to Concrete Cowboy.

Since the DJ welcomed daughter Isan, 18, in a previous relationship and son Winston, 6, with Naiyana Garth, his comment led fans to believe that he had become a father of three.

“I’m so happy for them,” one fan tweeted, while another wrote, “I can’t breathe.”

However, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly, “He has a godson [Riaz] he refers to as his son, plus his biological kids, Winston and Isan. That’s why he said he has two sons. There is no baby.”

The Golden Globe winner works hard to prioritize his family, he told Cosmopolitan in April 2015, explaining, “More than anything you have to make time to be with your children. It’s something I battle a lot because of my career, because as much as it’s nice to be busy and working, ultimately children don’t raise themselves. You’ve got to be there to help them and guide them through it. That’s one thing I try my very best to do. I love being a dad. It’s an important part of my life.”

While he and Dhowre, 32, tied the knot in April 2019 in Marrakech, the No Good Deed star previously told Essence in July 2017 that he didn’t want to marry again. (Elba was previously married to Hanne Norgaard from 1999 to 2003 and Sonya Hamlin for less than a year in 2006.)

“Am I ever gonna get remarried? I don’t think so,” the British star told the outlet at the time. “Yeah, I don’t think so. Marriage is an institution of sorts. And I’ve done it. It’s not for everybody.”

He went on to say that having kids kept him young at heart, adding, “I’m 44 years old with a 2-and-a-half-year-old boy, I’m rolling around playing. And then I’m at a Drake concert with my teenage daughter. Having a young child now keeps me young, without a doubt.”
