'She has no idea how anyone got hold of them': Corrie's Kym Marsh 'upset and shocked after intimate photos were leaked online ahead of British Soap Awards triumph'

Kym Marsh is said to be 'upset and shocked' after intimate photos of her were leaked online by hackers. 

But the Coronation Street star refused to let incident spoil the greatest night of her career at the British Soap Awards on Saturday, which saw her win the Best Female Dramatic Performance gong.

The 40-year-old, who plays Michelle Connor in the soap, has 'no idea' about how the pictures - said to be very old - surfaced on the Internet.

They were shared on Twitter and a pornographic blog dedicated to stolen celebrity images after reportedly being sourced from an iCloud hack in April. 

A source told The  Mirror's Vikki White: 'It's very upsetting for Kym and has come as a huge shock as they are clearly private photographs that should never have been put into the public domain.

'The person who has put them out there has committed a criminal offence. The pictures are very old and she has no idea how anyone got hold of them.'

Kym is expected to take legal action and is said to be determined to help find those responsible. 

During the awards ceremony on Saturday, Kym moved the audience to tears when she dedicated her winners' speech to her late son Archie, who was born prematurely at 21 weeks on February 11 2009.

Her character Michelle and husband Steve McDonald lost heir baby son Ruari, a storyline Kym has found particularly difficult to portray.

She said: 'It was perhaps the most difficult thing I've ever had to do in my career. It took us back to places that we never really wanted to go to again but we did because we wanted to tell the story'

Holding back tears, Kym proudly lifted up her trophy after beating the likes of fellow Corrie actress Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt) to the win. 

Kym -proved that family was close to her heart as she arrived at the ceremony earlier in the evening with son David.

Clad in a navy lace gown, Kym looked sensational in the figure-hugging garment.

Featuring a lace neckline, the gown was short sleeved to show off her toned physique, whilst the tight material clung to her every curve. 

Flashing her tanned and toned pins, the gown also featured a racy thigh high split which offered a look at her towering silver heels.

Sweeping her brunette locks away from her face, the star rocked a vintage hairdo, with her glossy tresses in tight curls. 

Beaming broadly, she joined son David - who looked dapper in a fitted blue suit as he posed for pictures with his mum.  

Speaking about her tough Corrie storylines on Lorraine last month, she revealed: 'Obviously at times I was transported back to a place I was trying to get away from.

Hair-raising look: The brunette teased her locks into a curly updo and went heavy on the eye liner and mascara 

'I was told there was no way I HAD to do the stillbirth storyline. But I chose to do it because it might help someone who went through something similar. And so many people said it helped.'

Of her character Michelle, who is finally coming out the other end of the trauma on the soap, she said: 'I think she's lost some of her spark. I've had a lot of comedy to play which I think is great.' 

The annual Soap Awards ceremony launched in 1999 and this year will mark its 19th successive year on TV.

Celebrating the best of British soaps, fans will see some of their favourite TV stars from Coronation Street, Hollyoaks, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Doctors walking the red carpet in Manchester.

Although taking place on Saturday June 3rd, the ceremony will be broadcast on Tuesday June 6th after show bosses respectful postponed the program ahead of Ariana Grande's One Love tribute concert for the Manchester bombing.   

Hosted by This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield, tensions will reach fever pitch as soaps nervously wait to find out who has bagged the coveted title of Best Soap - which went to Emmerdale for the first time last year.
