ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST - OPENING
SIGN ON BONUS $10K for FT!

POSITION SUMMARY
The Sonographer reports to the designated leader within the Imaging Department. As a Sonographer, you will provide clinical services according to ultrasound practice standards and act as a resource to students, residents, fellows, and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions. To help achieve our mission, you will administer sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies and procedures to ensure the safety of patients. Your ability to complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations is essential. Demonstrating safety for patients, staff and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines is of vital importance. Maintaining equipment, exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition is required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education/Qualification
High School Graduate or equivalent required.
- Diploma from certified school of Radiology required.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Sonographer and acute care experience preferred.
- Current RDMS license required.
- Breast and Vascular registry preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Skills
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, regulatory or accreditation requirements Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic to Intermediate Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and percentages.
- REASONING ABILITY: Intermediate to High Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with The Joint Commission and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
- Always demonstrates compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
- Must have working knowledge of computers and basic management applications.
