The check-in process was lengthy since there was only one person checking people in and taking walk in reservations. The shuttle service was great back and forth to the casino. The beds were great BUT the pillows were TERRIBLE. The breakfast tasted great but was VERY unorganized and workers made you feel like you were in the way while attempting to get said breakfast. Besides the small things we would likely stay again as the price was right and as a member breakfast was free- not worth paying for that breakfast.

Great location right off highway near Mohegan Sun. The free shuttle starts at 4 pm and runs twice an hour, our driver Claude was very friendly. The bed was comfortable, the shower head was fantastic, one of the best I've experienced at a hotel. For sanitary reasons, I'd prefer to have the sink inside rather than outside the bathroom. A little dated.. but clean, small fridge available, no microwave in room. Didnt have much of view, overlooked parking lot. Pool available on premises, but disappointed that no hot tub, so didn't use the area. Staff at front desk the night we arrived were very friendly. Breakfast the next day was okay, simple but free. Fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, Canadian bacon, oatmeal and toast; be better if they had a waffle maker too and more than just one type of tea for tea drinkers like me. Saved a lot of money staying here for half price of Mohegan Sun rooms, would stay here again if no promotions available for Mohegan Sun rooms.

The hotel was clean and kept up well. We felt safe
Everything was in working order in our guest room The bed was very comfortable and the floor and hotel were very quiet for sleeping. All the outlets and lights were working and the refrigerator was working very well.
We asked for more coffee for the room, and were given extra with no problem.
Breakfast was good and there was ample choice of food.
The only thing that could say needing improvement was the couch. The springs on the end piece were worn out. and should be replaced. When you sat down on that portion of the couch you sank.

Upon first approach my husband and I said, "Oh my" We arrived a bit earlier than check in on 7/5. The grounds had trash strewn about, the trash piled high at the entry way and at the check in desk. Floors with dirt at the entry way, cigarette butts scattered throughout the outdoor areas. We were turned away from check in but actually wanted to see a room before we checked and and the clerk could not allow us.
We went back 1.5 hours later and the same trash was present. At this point the "manager" Kristen was at the desk(did not know she was the manager) but I asked about the trash and was told people were doing "the best" they could. We took the room anyway and the room itself was a bit rundown and dated but appeared clean. We ended up having to change rooms because the TV was not working, the last date on the TV was February....so perhaps they did not bother since then(room 644) We switched to room 512 which did not seem to have as much wear. I contacted Hyatt via FB messenger and was told to talk to the manager, ask for a discount etc. Each day I observed the same piled trash. But they did empty the bins at the entry way, the bins in the rear it took 3 days for them to finally empty them. It is laughable that they are pretending to follow some covid guidelines with wanting customers to sanitize hands before going into breakfast and using a napkin to get a coffee cup, yet they did not bother to clean up spills etc nor did it seem the hallways have seen a vacuum in quite a while. Dirty, dirty, filthy common areas. And I believe they are using covid as an excuse. It takes 2 minutes to spray some windex on some of the surfaces and clean. Upon check out today I encountered Kristen the manager, told her of my observations/concerns. Her tone I describe as "snippy" and again was told they are doing the best they could. No discounts to offer I was told. I once again contacted Hyatt via FB and was told, "sorry there is nothing more we can do." By the look of other reviews this has been going on a while. I will say they serve a good breakfast and "Pierre" another front desk person seemed extremely sincere and we actual saw him trying to do some cleaning up. Also, there is no daily room service(not that we need daily service) but they would only address any issues as they came up. So it really did not seem the housekeeping staff were overly stretched.

Our stay was awful. I tried to perform online check-in which did not work. From the moment we arrived & they told us they might not have a room for us. We had called asking if we could get adjoining rooms or at least on the same floor which was not accommodated but then to tell a guest they overbooked and that I might not have a room is atrocious. The grounds were filthy. The trash cans were all overflowing. There was trash left outside room doors from the time we arrived through checkout. All the rugs had clearly not been vacuumed in some time on the multiple floors we visited. The hand sanitizers were empty & some were missing all together.
There were no clean towels at the pool & when I asked for some they said there were none. Then brought down four towels leaving the bin overflowing with dirty towels. The four towels was not enough for the guests at the pool and we were told there were no more towels. I had to grab hand towels from the gym for my children because I didn’t even get one that I requested.
But worst of all, our bedding was clearly stained and used from a prior guest with bodily fluids and hair. When I called for bedding I was told I could come get stuff at the front desk. First, I would have hoped at this point someone would at least offer to bring up clean bedding and make the bed but at a minimum walk it to our room. I had to take 2 trips down to get clean bedding. Our shower was moldy and had pubic hair remnants in it. I had to use wipes to clean surfaces to ensure cleanliness for my family. One of our clean towels was stained. The staff we did encounter seemed defeated and one told me the conditions are so bad she had given her notice.
The breakfast choices were nothing. We ate elsewhere but based on what I’ve seen at other Hyatt properties I wouldn’t advertise this as offering breakfast. I stayed at another Hyatt property last summer when Covid restrictions were in place and while that was different than the usual spread I’ve seen at the Hyatt, it still had some variety and was clean. I wouldn’t eat anything from this property based on cleanliness alone.
I am pretty easy going when it comes to travel I just ask for a clean room & facility. I recommended the Hyatt to my friends based on my stay at other Hyatt locations.

No heat in room at check in late at night. No follow up by staff or management except what I pushed for. I would have thought maintenance would have been alerted to check the system or another room lined up after first night reporting and front desk confirmed it wasn’t working. Another lesser grade room was made available after I went to the front desk the next day and maintenance was sent to look at the heat after I specifically requested it the next day.

I enjoyed the amenities at the hotel from the bar to the breakfast. Having a shuttle for Mohegan Sun visits make everything easier especially the location to Mohegan Sun. Plenty of other venues around for food as well.

We read about the recent negative reviews due to the lack of staff available to work. However, the people who are actually ambitious enough to work are top-notch. They made up for the understaffed condition and things were not as bad as some reviews suggested.
The only issue is you may want to bring your own towels, wash cloths, etc. because the Laundry crew is understaffed, and they cannot clean your room every day. It is more like a Time Share for now, where they only clean rooms ~ once per week.

Before we left our room I took a photo of the bottled waters that we didn't drink in case they were going to charge us, sure enough $10 was on our VISA bill. Called the hotel, they refunded us but said it was a one time courtesy. REALLY! Oh geez thanks for the favor for something we didn't even use. Have them take the water bottles out of the room or hand them over to front desk, they will charge you!!

After a long drive from New Orleans to CT directly after hurricane Ida hit, with 2 cats, an elderly dog and a pregnant wife en tow, we arrived at the Hyatt very late at night. The overnight FD agent, Leigh (hopefully spelled correctly), was very helpful and accommodating, which meant a great deal to us especially after a stressful trip under trying circumstances. Bonus points that Leigh is a cat person!!! As a hotel GM in NOLA with a biased perspective on hospitality expectations, I can personally attest to the high standards of cleanliness, offered amenities and customer service provided at this property. As a Norwich, CT native who visits often I am looking forward to staying at the Uncasville Hyatt during my next trip.

Probably a good idea to contact the hotel.
When we were there last month, the latest pick up from Mohegan back to the hotel was 1AM. I am not sure how often officially, but the bus drives back and forth the whole day.
Thanks for the question! Our shuttle service runs Friday/Saturday from 4pm-1am every 30 minutes. Soon our shuttle will also expand to include Thursday/Sunday nights for the spring/summer months!
If it is at Mohegan Sun, you can either take the shuttle bus from hotel, or drive yourself to the free parking deck at the Casino.
