Playbook Reset without Password - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

I have been trying to reset my playbook. I have reached my "final attempt" but the screen never changes no matter how many times I type the incorrect password.

Is there a way to factory reset/wipe without having the password?

Never used an autoloader. Are there videos out there for this? How do I get it on my playbook?

Simply download to your PC, plug in your PlayBook, and run it.

Doesn't it need the password though before the wiping process begins?

Depends on the actual state of the device. It seems something is unusual here.

I always thought after the 10th attempt the device rests itself

For the autoloader. Could I run an older version so I can use APK's?

No - use the autoloader provided by conite above. You cannot install ANY apk's directly with any PlayBook autoloader. To do so you have to convert the apk to a native .bar file and then sideload using a program such as Sachesi (there are other ways also but you MUST convert the apk file first).

So, download .apk to my PC. What do I use to convert the file to .bar?

I used to use this: https://apps.goodereader.com/apk-2-bar/ but not sure if it still works. Regardless, you can find lots of converted files on GoodEreader. Some will work fine and others maybe not. It's trial and error. Once you download the files to your PC you can then use several ways to put them on your PlayBook but I prefer using the Sachesi software. If you search here on CB Forums you can find info on sideloading and the various methods used.

Try Darcy's BlackBerry Tools (DBBT) from the link here: https://forums.crackberry.com/blackb...-apps-1178933/ . If that doesn't work you can try the BlackBerry install extension on the Chrome or FireFox browser (just search the extensions on either of those browsers).

Google it. You may have to reactivate the service.

Honestly I appreciate the help. I am going to continue to mess around and see if something works out.

    Thanks all for the help.

Will this work from MacBook Pro? My BlackBerry playbook is the 4G LTE 32GB model in particular.
