This morning we've just had a wonderful occasion in the blessing of our three mōuri markers and our pou, our two pou, and also in the main entrance there, our pare. The mōuri markers are points on parliament where we actually, as mana whenua, stand at various points of pōhiri. So it's also a reference for the future. When I look at those taonga out there, and when people come to Parliament grounds in the past they've always just seen Parliament. But today is about not only will they see Parliament, they also see Parliament of the importance of expressing our culture.

RT HON ADRIAN RURAWHE: Amongst all of us, we should celebrate this day. So the legacy of those pou that are standing outside can be durable for a long, long time.

KARA PUKETAPU-DENTICE: When people come to parliament grounds they see our pou, our culture is right front and centre. That is a statement, that is a turning point for us as a nation, as a people, and I am deeply proud of that.
