To use the hazard information in Google Earth, follow the instructions below:

(Make sure that Google Earth is installed in your device. Else, download Google Earth from https://www.google.com/earth/download/gep/agree.html , install and run the app.) 

1.    After clicking the link for map download, click the region where your area or property is located.

2.    Choose "Province", "Municipal". However, please note that availability of hazard map may vary depending on the location Municipal, Provincial or Regional). If there is no map showing in the municipal level, try selecting only up to provincial or regional level. If there is no hazard map available in your selected province, it's either there is no hazard specific to the area or mapping is still ongoing. PHIVOLCS takes the necessary steps to continuously improve the accuracy of hazards information reflected on each map generated. These maps may be revised as new information becomes available.

3.    Click the hazards you intend to know. Click the kmz files, which will be downloaded automatically.

4.    Double Click the kmz file/s you just downloaded. These will automatically open into your Google Earth application.  

5.    You may refer to the legend in the map for explanation of hazards in the area.    

6.    To make the layers transparent, look for the slider bar at the left portion in the Google Earth interface. Click the "square" icon. Scroll the bar to adjust transparency.

We would like to inform you that all earthquake- and volcano-related hazard maps available in our Institute can be downloaded online via https://gisweb.phivolcs.dost.gov.ph/gisweb/earthquake-volcano-related-hazard-gis-information or at the HazardHunterPH app see https://hazardhunter.georisk.gov.ph and go to Download Maps.

 

If you require official hazards assessment reports for submission to banks or other government agencies, you may file your request at has.phivolcs.dost.gov.ph .Please provide us with proper vicinity maps and a copy of the TCT or Tax Declaration of the property. Kindly indicate your name, company name, if any, contact number and purpose of request. Hazard Assessment Reports are issued with corresponding costs.
