iPhone 8 Plus Philippines, Specs, and Review

The best thing about getting an iPhone 8 Plus is that it has some of the characteristics of the older iPhones such as the 6, 6s, and 7 while sporting internals similar to the Apple iPhone X. Here is a rundown of its specs and features.

Sleek glass body

For a while now, Apple has abandoned the rear glass design since the release of iPhone 4s. iPhone 8 Plus makes its long-awaited return with its beautifully crafted all-glass body with the usual aluminium edge for drop protection. It comes in three new colours which are Space Gray, Silver, and Gold. The glass body provides a little more weight for the smartphone which feels secure while holding it as it is also less slippery. On top of that, it is much more durable as Apple worked directly with glass-supplier Corning to withstand abuse.

Elegantly Gold

As mentioned earlier, the iPhone 8 Plus comes in three fancy colours, particularly its Gold-coloured phone. The Rose Gold colour on the older iPhones was pretty popular, but Gold on the iPhone 8 Plus can be seen as less pink as well as less gaudy compared to the older models. To simply put it, the colour is made to look more elegant and refined. Also, the colour changes under ambient lighting.

Six-core A11 Bionic Processor

Thanks to the six-core A11 Bionic processor, you can surf the net, text, or email seamlessly. Capable of utilising all six-cores simultaneously as it features a second-generation performance controller, the iPhone 8 plus delivers a significantly higher performance compared to the A10 Fusion.

In-house designed graphics processing unit

With Apple designing its GPU, it has resulted in an astounding 30% boost in performance. For the first time ever, they are utilising their own custom silicon to power the graphics on the iPhone 8 Plus since they stopped using London-based GPU-supplier Imagination. With the incorporation of the new Metal 2 API found in the iOS11, you can anticipate various gameplay, machine learning, and AR applications on the iPhone 8 Plus.

Stereo speakers

Compared to the previous models, the iPhone 8 Plus is equipped with stereo speakers by repurposing the headphone speaker that is 25% louder as well as delivering a deeper bass. Other than that, they have a good overall balance minus the irritation, peaking frequencies which can often be heard on an old radio. The sound is rather crisp along with a nice brilliance in the highs without coming off as irritatingly sharp. As for the phone speakers, it offers a more low-frequency sound.

True Tone Display

Previously seen only on the iPads and iPad Pros, True Tone utilizes the temperature of the room and adjusts to the display on the iPhone 8 Plus which also reduces stress on the eye. Users will not be able to notice the changes as it is subtle, but it makes a huge difference from prolonged usage of the smartphone.

Performance controller

This feature helps decide where your battery life goes which simply speeds it up or down whenever you need it.

Apple iPhone 8 Plus Frequently Asked Questions

What size is iPhone 8 Plus?
