Paul McCartney is celebrating something special!

On Monday, the singer-songwriter, 81, wished his wife Nancy Shevell, 63, a happy anniversary on Instagram as the couple marked 12 years of marriage.

"Happy anniversary to my lovely wife, Nancy. Let’s have a great one - Paul 💘," the Beatles star wrote, alongside a photo of the pair posing together outside.

Several celebrity friends sent their well-wishes on the post. British model Twiggy wrote, "Happy Anniversary, you gorgeous pair," and Roy Orbison Jr. commented with two sparkle emoji.

McCartney and Shevell began dating in 2007 after meeting in the Hamptons. Shortly after, the rock legend commented briefly about their relationship, telling the Sunday Times, "I just like being in love."

The couple got engaged in May 2011 and tied the knot in October of that same year in a simple ceremony at the Old Marylebone Town Hall in London. The musician's daughter, Stella McCartney, designed the couple's wedding looks for the occasion. Guests included Ringo Starr and wife Barbara Bach, and George Harrison’s widow, Olivia Harrison.

As the couple left the venue after their nuptials, McCartney told a crowd of onlookers that the wedding was "terrific," joking that he felt "married."

Earlier this year, McCartney opened up about what being a husband means to him in a reflective post on his website.

"I see it as just trying to be good to my wife Nancy and trying to be considerate and romantic," he wrote, joking that he likes to go a bit overboard with Valentine's Day.

"I completely overdo Valentine’s Day! I mean, there’s not just one card, there are cards hidden around the room, and sometimes things even spill into the next day — it’s completely silly. If there’s an excuse to have some fun, I overdo it!" he continued. "At Christmas, I go crazy with the tree lights and fairy lights — totally overdo it."

McCartney also shared that he loves being the person Shevell "relies on."

"I am very proud, in fact, to be 'The Guy' there. And I know she is grateful. So that's my role as a husband: it's to be the strength and the romance at the same time," he wrote. "I don't think I consciously chose to be that way. It's just how I do things."

In addition to his wedding anniversary, McCartney marked another important moment on Monday. Oct. 9 also happens to be the birthday of his late bandmate and friend John Lennon.

He paid tribute to Lennon — who died in December 1980 — on what would have been his 83rd birthday.

"Celebrating the birthday of my wonderful friend and collaborator, @johnlennon," he wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of himself performing in front of a black-and-white image of Lennon.
