A forested trail goes all around the lake. Plenty of people were enjoying the water and fishing. Kids were jumping from the pedestrian bridge into the lake. The slope from the trail to the lake is very steep in places. The water is clear and seaweed is visible, making it fun to snorkel.

The lake and surrounding amenities are clean, and family friendly. Nice parking lot area and camp store. That received 2 stars. Minus 3 stars is a result of the rude female employee renting kayaks from the Marina. And the fact that the pictures of the kayaks for rent on their website did not accurately reflect what we received. The female attendant had no interest in helping us figure out why we were receiving the wrong kayaks. We even showed her the picture on the website! We also had to “fit” and fix the pedals and seat out on the lake of one of the kids’ kayaks ourselves, because it wasn’t checked by attendants before we left the dock. Ultimately the kids had a good time and loved the ice cream afterwards which is what counted.

We had never heard of this small lake when we were looking for a place to stay near Mnt Shasta. We wound up staying in a cabin right on the lake. It was a pleasant surprise with crystal clear water, a beach, small cafe and rental water craft. The best part was an unbelievable kayak view of Mnt Shasta, which still had an enormous amount of snow - even in mid-June. The local town ( also called Mnt Shasta) is the perfect size to investigate by walking its Main Street of shops and restaurants.

The lake is really fun for swimming in the summer, and there are several different entry points to pull off the road with small dirt parking lots to access the water.
The entry fee area is small and crowded but if you have small kids there are fun water inflatables to play on.

This info would help. They only except cash. The rude lady told us we could use the credit card system for the $2 that is normally for the resort customer only, but it would be $50-.-... so we had to drive back to town to get $2... lol This is the type of info that would actually be helpful on here.
The place is hard to find.

If you are not fond of swimming, kayaking or sunning (I am not), the lake still provides a wonderful opportunity for a great, easy walk. There are various starting points with lots of parking. Across from the tennis courts or a bit further across the dam are my favorite starting points - the latter better for a clock-wise walk in the shade, the former for a counter clock walk with a bit more sun. Either way you can walk all the way around the lake or walking for a while and turning around is also lovely. There are some steep drop-offs, so might not be great for little kids who like to run. Lots of people riding bikes. Please pick up after your dog. There is a camping resort on the far side of the lake with a restaurant, gift shop etc. They have beach access for a minimum fee per car (it was a dollar last I was there). Castle lake is about 8 miles from the second parking area - a lovely natural lake. I feel safe walking here alone. Lovely views of the mountain. Pretty flat, but probably not wheel chair accessible

We were pleasantly surprised to find that, in spite of the drought, this lake is very lovely and provides excellent swimming!

No matter where you are when you're driving North, there is Mt. Shasta with snow even in the middle of the summer.
The whole area is beautiful and very serene. Worth a trip.

What Lake Siskiyou lacks in lake monsters, it makes up for in beauty! It has a generous beach, food, and even water slides for kids. In the shadow of Mount Shasta, it lacks for nothing. Great place to kayak, paddle board, you name it. There is a paid entrance fee; get there early as parking is limited.

Great hiking trails but also gentle walking paths. The crystal clear water is highlight of the park! Mt Shasta is in view from many places in the park. Bring your animals and enjoy splashing in the lake.

Hola
Sobre el 25 de junio tengo previsto hacer una escapada al Montse Shasta y sus lugares como el lago Siskiyou. Es un viaje espiritual y de conexión con el lugar. Si me pueden dar información al respecto se lo agradezco.

Hello
If you enter Mt Shasta on Lake Stree and follow the directions to Lake Siskiyou you will come across a bridge. It does not appear to be of particular import to me.
This is a very rural area. I doubt you can get lost. Signage is good.
Good Luck!

Are there any lodging ( other than camping) by the lake?
What the water temperature in summertime?

The weather in summer is 90-100 at the high points. The nights cool down, but some nights it's still warm enough you'd be okay swimming even. The lake water is pleasant, especially come July and August, not too cold at all.
Do most people have service here?

WiFi? I didn’t notice, but the lake and the views of Mt Shasta were stealing my attention. The temperatures are cooler at the lakes than in the town. Safe travels and happy trails!!

Hi,
What is the swimming season in Siskiyou lake?
I was planning to go beginning of October. Will it still be warm enough to swim?
Thank you!

Tolerance to the coldness of water is such an individual thing.....
My guess is if you are used to swimming in cold water, October will be fine for you because while the air temperature will have started to cool down and therefore the water temp there are usually still some very warm days at that time, especially earlier in the month.

There is only one - unless you are looking at other lakes.

Is there anywhere to access the beach that allows plenty of room for a family gathering that is also easy terrain to access? We didn't want to pay hourly for the recreation area as most of the party only wants to access the beach/water, not toys.
