Great Way to Spend the Day
Took my four children ranging from 2 years to 17 years. Every person had a blast! The week after Christmas was perfect....Perfect weather, still decorated for Christmas and showing Christmas shows & singers, and although crowded, not unmanageable. Security was visibly present, and it was just an all around pleasurable experience.

UNIQUE THEME PARK IN THE OZARKS
My wife and I had been to Silver Dollar City many years ago with my parents and we decided to pay it a visit recently. Getting into the parking lot can be a little frustrating as there is only one way into the the entry gates. A plus is that those with a handicapped placard/plate can park for free. Some negatives are that there is limited handicapped parking capacity and the parking lot is on a hillside. So, if you can't figure out where the shuttles pick up (which we couldn't) then you have to walk uphill to the park entrance. Additional negatives are the parking rows are not numbered/labeled and there is minimal to no signage to tell you where things like the handicapped parking or shuttle pickup areas are. Once you get near the entrance of the park, you need to evaluate you and the members of your party's level of mobility as the entire park is on a hillside with lots of inclines/declines and stairs to negotiate. (They have a place where you can rent electric scooters just before the entrance.) The park itself is unique with numerous rides, shops, and eating venues throughout the park. The staff we encountered were all very friendly and helpful. We intentionally visited during their bluegrass and BBQ festival so there were some great bluegrass acts to catch during our visit. If you do your research in advance, I am sure you'll like this place and enjoy your visit.

Silver Dollar City is the BEST Theme Park Ever!
My family and I purchase season passes to Silver Dollar City every year, and it is so worth it! The staff is amazing and funny, the park is very clean, there is great food, the overall theme of the park is incredible, and the rides are the main reason that we go! The rides here are so incredible, they have the perfect rides for thrill seekers, or people that just want to feel the wind in their face. My family and I agree that Silver Dollar City is the best theme park that we have ever gone to!

    BEST PARK EVER!
I absolutely love this park! I’ve gone here since I was little and I have always loved it! I love the theming of the whole park and the rides. There are rides for all ages! There are so many rides that children can enjoy! There are designated areas for children as well with so many fun attractions for them! There are splash pads and water rides to keep everyone in the family cool on a hot Summer day! Kids that do not like thrill rides but are too big for the childish rides have many options as well! Adults and teenagers that love the thrill have several roller coasters and thrill rides to choose from. The food at the park is amazing! The scenery of the park is so beautiful! The views that you get on some of the rides are amazing! Silver Dollar City is a must-do for every family! There is not a single time that I go there and don’t have fun! Bring a friend! There are also some pretty cool shows that older people can watch or anyone at all can watch! I personally go to Silver Dollar city for the rides, the food, and a good time! The workers are very kind and they make the theme seem so much more real! If you like to post on Instagram, this park has so many amazing sites to see and post! Spread the news of this amazing park because it is my all time favorite!

3rd time to this awesome place!
We’ve been here as a family two times before today and absolutely loved it just as much as the first two times! Great rides and scenery. And the show at the amphitheater was VERY entertaining from tight rope walking over the crowd to America’s Got Talent dog trainer, contortionist and acrobat. Very impressive! We will be back to see the caves which we’ve never had time to see due to all the other activities at the park.

    An American Classic
All-around great experience. Rides were all operational. Park was clean and well-maintained. All staff were pleasant, welcoming and helpful. Appreciate the trans from the free parking lots. Wish we'd had more time to enjoy shows, but only had about 5 hours from r our visit, so we will see more shows next time. If you plan to ride American Plunge or Mystic Falls, be prepared....YOU WILL GET SOAKING WET...lol. We had a fabulous time and look forward to returning to more fully experience Silver Dollar City

Newer isn’t better when you’re older
I am almost 57. I first went to SDC when I was a kid. The rides were simple, and fun. The entertainment was simple, good old fashioned, clean fun. There was bluegrass music everywhere in the park. They remembered their roots in this part of the country, and that’s what made the place special. I continued to come here from then , until now. Today, one of the first things I was excited to do, was go to the Saloon show. Sadly, it was basically a broadway performance. The old timey show is gone. The next thing I noticed, was the music. There was no old time mountain music anywhere. Many of the small craftsmen, and woman, are gone. Big money, and the desire to compete with a world of roller coaster theme parks, has clouded almost everything that was special about this place. If you want to go to an amusement park, more or less, like all the rest, this is the place. The rides are as good as any, and there is a lot for smaller children. Less than about 3 years old, is probably not going to be that great, as they kinda need to be able to get around and play without assistance. There is good food in the park, and plenty of places to sit. There are several shops that have closed, which comes as no surprise, if rides and coasters is the main attraction. Young people will really enjoy this place, but for those of us that are past that stage, it’s not so fun anymore.

    Another great visit!
My wife and I came up for Law Enforcement Appreciation week, I got free entry with my department ID. We always enjoy SDC! We’re usually season pass holders, just didn’t this year. However with it being Fire In the Hole’s last season we had to go! I rode Mystic River for the first time, which replaced Lost River of the Ozarks.. WOW!! It’s soooo much better that lost river! It’s intense and a wonderful way to get soaked and cool down on a hot day! My only complaint is our conductor on the train was… less than enthusiastic about his job, plus he was just following the script, no enthusiasm! Alphie and Ralphie were AMAZING!! They made us laugh and preformed GREAT!! Park is always clean and well maintained! I’m glad they won the best park in America!

This sadly is not the Silver Dollar City we visited 5 years ago 😢 Our family couldn’t wait to come back and now is so disappointed in waiting all day for barely anything. The lines for even the kiddie rides were an hour long! The lines to buy lunch at 2:30 were an hour long still! They stated on the website that tickets had to be reserved for the day due to limited Covid capacity. However, there are at least 4 times the number of people in the park that ever should’ve been allowed. Season ticket holders in line tell me they don’t reserve. They fill the rides at 1/3 capacity due to “COVID” and then pack us like sardines in the waiting spaces and far beyond to wait 3x as long with everyone close together. Very few shows are available, and at least 1/3 of the rides/attractions are closed. There is no consistency between rules on rides. Some space, some don’t. Some spray down the ride in between, some require use of hand sanitizer to board. Many guests wear masks on their necks or chins, but no one says anything about that. What a sad experience! We visited Sea World a few months ago. Tickets were reserved for the day, social distancing and masking was strictly enforced, and we all enjoyed rides and shows and didn’t wait long in food lines. Really, really sad. I guess they needed to make up for the money they missed out on last year. Those around us have regularly voiced their frustration as well.

My family has been coming to Silver Dollar City for as long as I can remember and we always loved it but sadly it has gone terribly down hill. We decided to take our church youth group there last month because many of them had never been to an amusement park. We told them so many times how great it was and how they were going to love this ride and that ride. They were so excited. Sadly, it was a huge disappointment. Every ride kept breaking down. We would wait in line for over an hour and just as we would make it to the front about to get on a ride they would announce that something was wrong with the ride. In some cases they made everyone evacuate the line while they fixed it which was the most aggravating because when they got it back up and going it didn't matter that we had already waited there for an hour. We would have to start all over again waiting who knows how long to even have a chance to ride . Other times they would let you wait in line not knowing how long it might take to get it fixed. This didn't just happen once or twice but literally all day long! Ride after ride. We were there for 6 hours and literally only got to ride 1 ride and we had to wait in line over 2 hours to get to ride it! This was on a THURSDAY! I would hate to see what it would be like when the park is more crowded on a weekend! Finally our teenagers gave up on the roller coasters and water rides and went over to ride the little kid rides the kiddie area (like the tea cups and pirate ship that goes back and forth) which seemed to be going fine so they at least got to ride something. By 4:30 they were asking if we could just leave early and go somewhere else? And they were so down because they had spent their own money on these tickets. $80 each to spend all day standing in line in the heat and get to ride 1 roller coaster or a couple of rides for little kids that they could have ridden at the county fair. I'm not sure what has happened to Silver Dollar City but they need to do something so their rides don't break down every hour. It's actually kind of scary and a huge waste of our day and nearly $800 for our group. Our youth actually said when we left that they "hate that place" and don't ever want to go back. It makes me really sad because I grew up loving it and wanted to share that experience with them. But we will definitely not be going back any time soon. I tried to reach out with a message to Silver Dollar City on their website about our experience where it said someone would get back with me within 5-7 business days. I gave them over 3 weeks and still have not heard anything in response.

I've been going to this theme park for 7 years. I get season passes every year except for last year. Today was the worst experience I've ever had and it is very apparent that it is very mismanaged now, they are extremely inconsistent with this whole covid mess, and they obviously cannot handle ride maintenance. making people wear masks and making people socially distance on rides is beyond ludicrous, especially since everyone standing around a shoulder to shoulder and you're out in the open. I can understand if you're indoors but you're outside in the sunshine and you're letting thousands of people in the park all crowded together. The fact that you're only feeling coasters 1/3 capacity means that lines are going to be beyond extreme, but you're not limiting the number of people that can come in the park to make the experience pleasant for those who do attend. add to that that there are now four different lines to get in the park each one almost an hour long ruin the experience completely and you guys just need to shut down if you're not going to just open everything up. Learn a lesson from Florida, and stop this nonsense. Florida covid numbers are actually less than hardcore California. What are you guys doing?

To add insult to injury they're still allowing people to buy the front and line passes, and some of the rides they only allow a few people on. So they kept allowing front of the line passholders on and the regular line hardly moved at all. We just stood there watching all these rich kids get on ahead of us and we just got ignored. And they only had one person operating some of these rides, and even worse between rides they would wipe down all of the seats, which made wait times even longer. This is ridiculous.

My family had a wonderful time! If I really listened to the bad reviews we would have missed out on a great experience! We went on a Wednesday and didn’t wait long for anything. (We are not roller coaster riders with an 8 and 5 year old). For everyone who complains about the parking lot tram…get there early. We were there in the lot at 8:00. They let you into the square at 8:30. There are shops and stores to see. At 8:50 listen to the bluegrass band while you wait for rope drop at 9:30. We went straight to Mystic River Falls and had a short wait. In fact we got off and back in line to ride it a second time. It is a fantastic ride. Not sure how you could get “injured” like other records claimed. Young and old alike loved it! We rode all the grownup rides that morning. In the afternoon we went to Marvel Cave and ended with the kiddie kids. We were there from 8:00-7:00 and rode everything we wanted to. Sometimes twice! If we come back again we are going to get two day passes. We didn’t have time to see Harlem Globetrotters or any other shows because our kids wanted to ride. If you want to see Marvel Cave they only allow 60 guests per tour. You have to get in line at least 30 minutes before the next tour to get in. The tour is totally worth it! Don’t skip it! We made some great memories!

It’s especially fun for small children. They have a lot of rides and play spaces geared especially for them. Several of the spots were closed because of Covid 19, but there was still plenty to do. We highly recommend seeing Mike Bliss - he’s an excellent magician, and very funny.

Masks are required, as well as reservations (mostly necessary on Saturday), so plan for this. But we still had a great time!

My wife and I had a blast going to silver dollar city during the Christmas holiday, at first it started out as a nightmare due to what silver dollar city called a glitch in the system. They overbooked the park with too many guest and had to turn us away but to be fair we showed up to buy our tickets on the spot but we were not the only guest that were turned away because this also included guest who had already purchased their tickets in advance. The night we were turned away we decided to just go ahead and purchase our tickets for the next night online and when doing so we were charged for four tickets when we only needed 2 tickets and after we were charged we received a message from silver dollar city that our transaction did not go through even though the money was deducted from our bank account.. long story short they corrected it and my wife and I were able to get into the park the next evening and let me tell you it was magical! We’ve have been several times during the regular season but it was nothing like the Christmas holiday trip, so many lights and to be honest it was nice the park was only allowing 40% attendance because at 100% attendance it gets crowded very quickly. All in all we will be making this a regular tradition of visiting the park during the holiday themes they have going on.

I am not new to SDC, I am 58 years old and I have gone multiple times almost every year starting when I was 5 years old with my parents, the only exception was during my time in the military. My wife I and I have had season passes for probably 20+ years, so I know the park and it's history pretty well.

I was a little upset with them last year (2020) and how they handled tickets. I get that the pandemic caused every business a ton of problems but they were turning away season pass holders, holding people that bought tickets and had a reservation time to enter often for hours, all because they wanted to sell as many tickets at the gate as possible, basically screwing over their long time customers. All they had to do was have online ticket sales only and season pass holders need to make a reservation for the day they were going to be there, then they would know how many were going to be in the park and cut off the sales/reservations when the max number had been reached, not hard to figure out IMO. Instead, they had to get every penny they could.

Well, this visit was another example of that. I don't know how many people were in the park the day we went but you couldn't hardly move. My wife paid extra (on top of season passes) so we could get in a few shows and if you want to see a show at Christmas I would recommend that. I don't like spending the extra money but people were waiting in line for a few hours that didn't have the reservation. All of the food lines looked to be at least 30 minutes long, most much longer. They said they are short on staff, I suspect that is correct, almost everywhere is. That may not be SDC's fault, I don't know, but I know for a fact it isn't my fault either. If you can't have enough staff there, cut back the number of tickets, you already increased the price of admission, at least let people paying that amount enjoy the day instead of just standing in lines.

I understand times change, I too am in business and if you don't change with them you get left behind. However, it appears greed is overtaking whoever is in charge of SDC now. Up the charge for everything, oversell tickets, less staff, just whatever it takes to get a dollar even if it's at the expense of the customer, even the long term ones.

I am not saying I won't be going back (that may be the case, but I know we are not getting season passes again, that was decided on the way home by both of us) but I know for a fact I won't be going back at Christmas, it was pretty miserable.

The sign near the ticket windows said that all rides were operating. They were not. Four of the major rides were not operational. A number of the others had a number of break downs which lead to extremely long lines at the rides that were operating. Then they weren't even running at full capacity even though the lines were extremely long (3 hour wait for one ride in particular).
A large number of concession stands were not even open.
They have no problem charging you full price even though they're unable to provide the full service expected. We've been there many times over the years but won't return after this experience.

Our family group ranged in age from 5 to 63 and we all found much to like about Silver Dollar City. We were able to do lots of things due to the reduced crowds durubg the pandemic. Our only wait was for the Mystic River water ride. We waited about one hour and 15 minutes for that one; however, it was worth the wait. I was surprised to find that even the little ones have numerous ride options. For a theme park it was relatively affordable, with a wide variety of food and entertainment options. The staff was genuinely hospitable. Silver Dollar City is worth spending one of your days on during a Branson vacation.

Bought season passes for the first time in years and was hugely disappointed in our first experience at the park this season. Previous reviews about limited capacity on rides, long lines and ride maintenance are all correct. We experienced all of these same issues. Makes no sense to limit ride capacity when no one is policing social distancing in lines for rides where people are standing elbow to elbow for hours. And I didn’t see any evidence of attendance being limited. It seems like they are allowing the same number of people in which just adds to the issues with long lines and rides with only a quarter of their capacity. Very poor management. Don’t recommend visiting until more consistent rules are applied or restrictions are lifted.
