Whether or not you’ll be paying $30 to watch Mulan (2020) on Disney+ this weekend, I think we can agree on one thing: The original Mulan rules. I’m all for a super-serious, super-epic live-action adaption of this ancient story—and I’m 100 percent a stan of the new Mulan actor, Yifei Liu—but something you just want to sing along to some bangin’ musical numbers. We’re six months into a pandemic with no end in sight, and we need joy, dammit! Let us sing our hearts out to “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” in peace.

The animated Mulan, which opened in theaters in 1998, was directed by Barry Cook and Tony Bancroft, and featured some iconic voice performances from Ming-Na Wen, Eddie Murphy, Miguel Ferrer, and BD Wong, as well as some iconic singing from Broadway legend Lea Salonga. You may know the lines by heart (and if you don’t, dishonor on you, dishonor on your cow) but it’s always worth revisiting this beloved film. Here’s everything you need to know about where to watch the first Mulan movie from your childhood.
