Tickets for Alcatraz Island can be booked up to 90 days in advance. We suggest booking early as tickets in the spring and summer sell out very quickly. Alcatraz Cruises is the only ferry service that go to Alcatraz Island, and other companies get their tickets from us. Make sure to book on the official ALCATRAZ CRUISES website for guaranteed lowest price.

We booked our tickets about two months in advance. I recommend you do book before you go as when we previously visited San Francisco we were disappointed that there were no tickets available for four days and we were only there for three.

We booked our tickets about a month before. We were there the end of April. It was a busy time and only the Ferry can take you to the island.

The couple we traveled with purchased tickets online and printed them at home. I'm guessing you can do this whenever you know the date you want.

I would recommend you book a month to six weeks ahead but you can book up to three months if you wish. You will still have to reconfirmed 24 hours before.

We booked a few weeks ahead. Arrive at Pier 33 about 45 before your boat departs.
