Yeah that’s a dangerous combination. I wouldn’t touch any hallucinogens if I’m not in the right state of mind but I guess it’s good he kicked drugs for good.

Seems like a responsible Ayahuasca retreat center would have an alternate location available for those kinds of situations. A plan in place to separate a client who is having a debilitating mental breakdown, idk. I can’t imagine it’s rare enough to not be something that is standard practice in the industry by now…
But I’m just speculating here.
This man was in mourning and took a reality altering mood amplifier…
Which is crazy as fuck to do. I can’t imagine that trip.
So the shrooms did there job. Cured

Agreed, it is definitely a different life form.
I would like anyone reading this to understand that if you're already on antidepressants, you should not take them and will likely feel unpleasant and experience a serotonin hangover. Not deadly or anything, but not fun.
Nor should you quit taking your meds in anticipation of trying to replace them with some mushrooms you bought off of your friend's buddy. Be smart.
But when done correctly, they really can help.
Shroom works in mysterious ways.
Who hasn’t had a bad mushroom trip, it’s a rite of passage.
Yeah, that'll do it..
That sounds like he took mushrooms irresponsibly.
For sure.
Y'all just don't get it huh, respect the fucken shrooms.
It's not just a , walk in the park you need to be in the right state of mind. If not, the truth is going to lead you to a path of pain
I took too many shooms once, and it was awful. It's was really fun at first, and then I lost the ability to speak.
Sometimes the path of pain on a mushroom trip is beautiful and freeing. To your point, you’d need your be in the right state of mind to appreciate the revelations on a trip like that.
Talk to em!
The takeaway here shouldn’t be ‘mushrooms bad, don’t do drugs’. It should be, ‘don’t be a dumbass when taking mushrooms.
Too many people in here already on the “drugs bad” train 😭
I had an awful experience with mushrooms once. Long story short, I took some and kept the rest for a friend who would be joining me later. An hour or so later, I look down and see an empty bag on my lap... They were much stronger than anticipated, and I ate them all. Friend was not happy, and I was on another planet.
Doesn't sound awful too me. Your friend perhaps but yeah haha
I mean that obviously sounds like it was a bad idea from the start
Knew a guy once that had hot cheetos before taking shrooms during a trip. He also wrapped the shrooms with some red sour belts. Later that night he threw up a ton of red shit in the toilet while he was tripping balls and thought he was dying because of it. Needless to say he never took drugs again. Also never seen or heard from him since 🤣
This is an amazing story and I want to make it into a sketch with Will Ferrell.
Do what to Anton?
Shows bad trips even have good lessons
☝🏻 this guy trips!
I do almost think there are no bad trips but definitely still good to be careful! And I only do once a year tops. I’m very sensitive too it and just go within while severing around me can socialize on it lol
AGREED! 🤝
They aren't "bad trips" they are challenging trips.
I frequently see calls for people to use shrooms or LSD to drastically improve mental and/or spiritual health, likening the experience to a "come to Jesus" moment, but a person must also apparently be in the right headspace/happy to better avoid a bad trip that can range anywhere from fairly unpleasant or terrifying to mind-cracking. Feels like a slippery slope. Plenty of people could think they are happy enough when they are not or be in straight denial despite seeking these things to specifically try to improve. Is the reality that only happy and well-adjusted people ought to take a trip?
Needing to be in a happy headspace is a made-up myth, and it should not be perpetuated. You need to respect the experience, but that doesn't mean you need to be in some super positive mood.
The studies at Johns Hopkins with psilocybin take terminally ill patients with severe death related anxiety and give them a dose large enough to ensure they trip balls. You can't get into a much worse headspace than that, yet it significantly improves their mental health and gives them a fresh perspective on life. Patients will be terrified becasue they are convinced they are dying, or going insane and they literally tell them that those things are OK and to go ahead and see what its like to experience death or to lose their minds.
The so-called "bad trip" can be the absolute best thing for people to go through, but you have to face it and not run away because it's unpleasant.
Bill Richard's is a founder of the psychedelic research team at Johns Hopkins. Here's some of his Flight Instructions for a session.
“Look the monster in the eye and move towards it… Dig in your heels; ask, ‘What are you doing in my mind?’ Or, ‘What can I learn from you?’ Look for the darkest corner in the basement, and shine your light there.”
“The same force that takes you deep within will, of its own impetus, return you safely to the everyday world.”
Happy and well adjusted people might not need it as much, at which point makes it recreational. Which is fine, but life altering realizations go a long way for the former maybe-needs-a-little-help-with-perspective group.
Is there a certain small window of acceptable sadness? Because anytime there is a bad trip mentioned people seem inclined to say the person wasn't in the right place even though people seek it out to get to a better place. People act like that's what it's for. But then it seems to only help in a very specific way and only if you aren't in too bad of a place. Like how people treat weed like a fix-all, and any issues people have must boil down to personal deficit or strain issues. Never a problem with the thing itself.
Perhaps there isn’t one size fits all answer. Maybe the search for these answers is the trip, with or without psychedelics. I can’t say for sure and don’t mean to think I have the answers. Maybe psychedelics don’t or can’t provide all the answers, but is just another available tool, and how and when it’s used proves it to be useful or not.
No one told me that I needed the right headspace. A bunch of us took blotter acid and went to a Fourth of July bonfire at the neighborhood park. It was full of people from all over the city and it was insane. That was the last year of that tradition. The new sprinkler system was destroyed on that field, and somebody rammed a pickup truck into a secured table and benches. Good times
Why do people take way too much and then act surprised when they lose control? That’s like drinking a bottle of tequila the first time you drink and then saying “I had a bad experience with tequila. Never drinking it again!”
Idk about that, it’s not really about taking too much. You could take 5g many times (a huge dose) and be totally fine but then take half of that once in a bad mental state and have a bad experience/ lose control. Shrooms are not at all comparable to alcohol lol
Isn't loosing your mind to the cosmos the point of it?
My brother overdosing and dying in 1974 at 20 (I was 16) from alcohol and morphine poisoning according to the autopsy report (alcohol and heroin) put me off drugs. We thought he had gotten clean, but he ran into his old buddies and that was it. I never did anything more than occasionally smoke pot, but I haven’t done that since 1982. It will be 50 years this coming Thanksgiving that he died. We still think about him all the time and wonder if he hadn’t died what would have his life been like. We, his 5 siblings, still think of ourselves as 6 (3 boys followed by 3 girls).
Set and setting is everything when administering psilocybin. After the death of a person close to you, no thank you.
Must be hard, losing your little sister that way, it’s harder on the parents ultimately but that’s gotta hurt your heart. Brain cancer means your brain is dying and it hard to watch.
Pro tip: don't trip in a bad state of mind. That's like Wizardry 101.
In my experience, mushroom trips are never “good” nor “bad”. They’re reflective of your state of mind, of what’s currently weighing on you. If you’re in a state where things are going well for you, the trip will reflect that. If you trip while in a severe state of grief, you’re going to experience some extremely sad emotions. In other words, they’ll take your mind to meditate on wherever it “needs” to go to process whatever else is going on in your life.
He sounds like a naive fool not understanding shrooms, or someone who expects everything to be positive all the time. Grow up.
A completely and utterly irresponsible time to be doing psychedelics. Did he really think that was a good idea? Don’t drink and drive, don’t shroom with heavy grief
Most boring man in pop explains why he's such a snore
That’s crazy, you have to be in a positive headspace to do mushrooms. I was on vacation and heard of a friend’s personal problems back home, had to cancel my shroom and cirque de solei appointment. That’s nothing compared to the death of a sibling.
Micro dosing is the way to go
Happens to all of us
Anton when the teacher takes attendance - ☹️🫣🫣
Now if he would quit creating that god awful music..
I am Jack’s colon
Sometimes when confronted directly with your ego you don’t like what you find.
Shrooms helped me reconcile after losing my father, so to each their own really
Same thing happened to a girl I knew except she ended up joining a cult in Sweden.
Another shot at appearing interesting, another miss
Meanwhile you nailed your shot at appearing like a pretentious dick
