Forward the call to a 1-800 number and it'll show the real number. This is how trapcall works. If you have the capabilities of doing that, you're golden.

What do you mean the capabilities?

Do you have access to viewing the call logs of a 1-800 number that you could forward it to?

Ohh, thanks. I will now be looking into how to aquire a 1-800 number.

App called trap call unblocked a number for me a few years ago. Some girl kept calling me so I got the service (no app at the time) and when she called it was blocked then I rejected it and it went to a satellite that unlocks it and resumes the call, so the caller had no clue. After I called her back she stopped calling lol.

That shit costs money

I’d pay to hear that click when I finally respond with their name.

Well yeah, a service like that wouldn't be free. I'm sure there's a free one somewhere that'll give your phone a virus if you want that one.

Actually no. DU caller is free and safe.

But does it unblock/reveal private and blocked numbers?

I never get blocked calls. Only calls from people on India on spoof numbers. It tells me when those are spam because they often try to make it look like it has the same area code. Stalkers and ex-boyfriends is not what I deal with. lol

If it was threatening in any way, call your provider. They know where it came from and probably have it recorded. File charges on them. Dont try to be a bad ass.

You still need a warrant. It's not just a matter of calling up and saying it was a threatening call.

I was more referring to making a complaint and letting the police and service provider deal with it. They take that shot seriously now a day.

A lot of providers also offer a service to unblock, blocked callers so at least if he gets another call he would have the number

Which providers?

I’m not trying to be a bad ass and we have tried the police with a similar problem before so I don’t think filing charges would work, I just want whoever did this to know that there caught and to stop before anything else is said

Redirect it to a voip number (or whatever) and it shows up in the call logs. At least in Turkey

u/TheBTBlue avatar

Hey could you tell me about this process kardeş?

for example get an "santral" number from netinternet, redirect all your calls to that number and on netinternet panel it shows all callers

Thanks ederim.

To the best of my knowledge; not without a warrant

It was threatening but I don’t think it would be considered threatening enough to be able to be even brought to court, especially if they are underage, I don’t want to hurt anybody, I just want the people who did this to back off and leave my family alone.

If you can't unblock the caller id, you can block such numbers. This isn't ILPT though, that would be lying about the significance of the threats until a warrant is granted

It's also possible to record your calls on mobile, which might be illegal depending on the country

I’ll respond to your ILPT request with an SLPT: if you kill enough people you might kill the person that made the phone call.

SLPT?

Never heard of it, thanks though :)

So the app makes the number visible? Does it cost money?

u/AnnoyedRook avatar

*57 will trace the call, but they will hold the number for the police.

Edited

I think *69 will call the number back even if it’s blocked Edit: Definitely a thing, not trolling...

Are people downvoting this because they think he is trolling with 69? It's an actual thing. I am unsure if this would work though. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_69_(disambiguation)

Star 69 (disambiguation)

Star 69 refers to "last-call return," the Calling Feature Vertical service code *69 keyed on a landline telephone set in order to return the call of the last one to ring (in Canada and the United States).

Try calling your mobile operator. In my country they can tell you that number for $10

Harassing or Threatening would probably be enough for you to file a report with the local police. you may get some one willing to help, but only if they are bored.

at least you can make a record of it if you have future problems. say you build a report of 4-5 of these... then some one might step in. or if you are not the only person this is happening to locally then they may open an investigation.

just my two cents.

u/murkmaker avatar

When something similar happened before the police said they couldn’t do anything about it

state you would like to file a report anyways, keep those report numbers, and reference them each time something happens, create a paper trail and reason for them to open an investigation. you have to build a case slowly.

I will try calling

*82 if you’re American https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/*82

u/tj22157 avatar

*82 is used to show your outgoing caller ID to the other line if your default preference is no caller ID sent.

It'd the opportunity to blocking your own caller ID.

Oh damn

  1. File police report

  2. Call your mobile provider

  3. Wait until it progresses because a minor was involved
