Amazing. I was going to say it should be a contest submission but then I realized you already have two.
I can't submit everything I make to the contest ;)
Who is Tsar Boris I & II of Bulgaria?
Ever wondered how the rulers of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha, Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, etc. were related to each other? This chart details every ruler of Saxony from the House of Wettin. As you probably know, the states in the Holy Roman Empire were fractured and recombined many times as monarchs split their domains between their children. Saxony was clearly no exception to this! I included maps of Wettin lands in Saxony from 1089-1918 to try to make the divisions of land easier to understand, but the maps are still quite complicated, especially in 1680. Children are not necessarily arranged left to right by birth order, but by 1918, the seniority of each branch is correct (eldest to youngest going from left to right). I included as many intermarriages between branches as I could, but I had to leave many of these marriages out to make the tree readable. I also included members of the House of Wettin who married important rulers of other states (marked in beige). Enjoy!
Wow that's a freaking good chart!
Thank you so much!
May I ask, what program do you use to make this kind of chart?
I use Adobe Illustrator
Yet another great chart. I’m glad someone finally did a tree with the entire house and not just the Coburg branch.
Yes I've been wanting to see the other branches too and I couldn't find a good tree so I went ahead and made it myself :)
We were doing the same thing for the past weeks !!! 😀 Well done! Neat, sharp and sound! I even found few people I’ve missed! Great job. François
Ooh yeah I just saw your tree! I'm glad you enjoy!
1680s: What is primogeniture again? Nah. All agnates have a piece of the pie!
Got to say Rotta, you keep knocking out these amazing charts.
Great job mate, this is a family that looking at their wiki page doesn't help, so stand out job, kudos to you :D.
This shouldn't be allowed to be this well made!
The Ernestine Line is such a beautiful mess…🥲
Great job
How do you make family trees that look this good?
I can't tell if this is a rhetorical question lol but if it is, thanks! If it's not, then a few things: I followed the design/formatting of the House of Garsenda chart. I like this format because it lets me write "Duke of [place]" under each person's name instead of just "Duke [name]." This is especially useful for this tree because people were rulers of mutliple places at different times. I use the font Myriad Pro. I space out the generations evenly (each generation is centered vertically on each inch) unless I have to move things around for space. I also like my color schemes but I'm not sure if that really affects anything. But mostly I'm following Matt's formatting!
That's helpful! I've been struggling to make my trees look good but I'll try using your style if that's ok with you
Sure go ahead. It's not like it's "my" style anyways!
Great job, will you make another german dynasties?
Yes! I’m currently working on the House of Wittelsbach
Please do one for House of Capet, Oldenburg, Hohenzollern.
The pfalz, bavaria, Danish realms. Gr8.
You're crazy

Found one error, Queen Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen (William IV's wife) should be Georg I's daughter, not sister.
My father’s maternal grandfather is from Augustus of Saxe-Weissenfels
ive always wanted a good overview of the goofy wettins and this one literally has everything I could wish for that in a very comprehensive and good looking style
Please make charts for more such houses. Please! (Eg.Wittelsbach,Welf,Oldenburg)
