From the moment we arrived the experience of staying at The Danieli exceeded our expectations. This has been my 'bucket list' hotel since I first entered the hotel foyer 30 years ago. I have breakfasted on the terrace in the past, however this was our first experience of staying in this magnificent hotel. We chose this hotel for our wedding celebration and all members of the staff worked to make this an experience that will put a smile on our faces every time we think about it forever We had an amazing lagoon view room with champagne on arrival. The bed was so comfortable that it prompted us to buy new pillows on our return to the uk. Special thanks to Rosella on reception and Roberto in the rooftop restaurant. To eat our wedding celebration evening meal in the rooftop restaurant was amazing - and many thanks for the special touch arranged by Roberto - the piano player dedicating music for us and the complimentary cake and drinks supplied at the end of our meal. Will definitely be back

My mum and I stayed here for 1 night in May whilst visiting various cities in Italy.
I booked here as her birthday treat and it was worth the money.
We had a room which wasn't part of the original hotel, and on entering I was a little disappointed, but then we noticed the sitting area and second bathroom.
The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable.
We had a meal in the restaurant that evening and the food was delicious. We had to eat in side as there was a cool breeze blowing which would have made the evening uncomfortable.
The restaurant manager was a lovely young man, very attentive and helpful.
After an amazing nights sleep we had a breakfast on the terrace, the view and the food were to die for.
I would advise anyone visiting Venice to at least call into this hotel so that they can see how beautiful the staircase and bar area are. A true gem in a stunningly beautiful city.

This hotel exudes old world charm and was the perfect stay for my family during our recent trip to Venice . You must experience the buffet breakfast . It is the perfect start to the day with the terrace providing a birds eye view of the Grand canal.and the waterways .the hotel is close to all the local tourist destinations and some fantastic shops and restaurants .you must spend a few hours in the lobby and enjoy a cocktail or some drinks to capture the atmosphere of this hotel . The staff where all friendly and helpfull.
Our rooms where adequate for a hotel of this statue.

This Hotel is as unique as the city it occupies. A must stay and experience! From the Lobby(service, staff, drinks, décor) the rooms (cleanliness, sheets, amenities, view) to the breakfast terrace views. This is as good as it gets! Yes, it's old and should stay that way. Everyone wants to modernize Hotels leave it just the way it is. It's spectacular and we can visit and experience a bit of History.

Our rooms (590 Euro each) were small with horrible decor and worse views. Need to go to lobby to reach reception or front desk (phones always busy). Beware the concierge -- tried to overcharge us 40 Euro for water taxi to airport. What a waste!

Location, location, location!! And the breakfasts on the terrace restaurant offer extraordinary views of the lagoon, as do the rooms facing the lagoon. We happened to be in Venice during a regatta, so stepping onto our balconies (small, but terrific vantage points) to experience the pageantry of vendors and tourists on land and of all sorts of boats at sea gave us unforgettable memories.
It's an old hotel, with labyrinthine passageways and dim bulbs as well as the plush velvet and gilded decor of another age. The internet service was poor, much more complicated than it should have been at hotel in this price range--and those labyrinths and the dim lighting were a little tiresome. But we had a wonderful time, so close to everything Venice, including delightful narrow streets full of tempting shops and small but excellent restaurants.

I have stayed in many places In Venice over the years, this is one of the best, pricey but worth the special occasion, if you only come once to Venice in your life time spend the extra and have a time of your life.
If you can secure yourself a room with a balcony overlooking the lagoon, do it you won't be disappointed, amazing views of the busy gondoliers, cruise ships coming past your window only 200 meters away and watch the venetian lifestyle pass you by.
Only one bad point is the Internet and the pay tv is not the best. It quite often stops working and after paying top dollar I feel that should not happen.
A gem of a hotel just a short walk from St. Marks square, it is a hotel full of old charm and antique beauty oozing out if every nook and cranny.
Do it you won't be disappointed.

It had been 30 years since we last stayed at the Danieli and it is still as classic a place as ever. Very convenient location with Piazza San Marco just around the corner and the water taxi dock right outside. Breakfast on the terrace is incredible with its panoramic views. It was worth the extra expense to get a canal view room. Can't wait to go back there again and this time it won't take 30 years!

We stayed there for one night to celebrate our Valentine's Day. We arrived there directly by boat on a sunny day and left the day after in the rain, but the experience was impressive! Both the hotel and the city are romantic and fascinating in all weather conditions. The staff of the hotel was very welcoming. We enjoyed a very good lunch with careful service, delicious fish and a fine Venetian wine. We could also rest and enjoy the sun on the panoramic roof terrace. I was all-happy to find a second washbasin with mirror hidden behind a wood door in our room. The bathroom was wide and elegant. Our room had a magic view on St. Giorgio Maggiore Island. At night we went to the opera to enjoy "La Traviata" by Verdi at famous La Fenice Theatre, located in walking distance.This stay made me feel like a princess! Absolutely suggested to couples for a romantic escape to this unique city: magic Venice!!!

It is a shame that such a beautiful hotel overprices its food and drinks to such an extend that only few people use them (the bar is mostly empty). We had ONE cocktail each for a total of €38 and expected sensations, instead we got something any corner bar in the states would be ashamed of, it was barely shown the alcohol. After this we decided against breakfast at € 53 each and went to a bar in the side street for capuccino and cornetti. And for dinner we greatly enjoyed La Osteria alle Testiere which is pricy but wonderful sea food and wine with very attentive and friendly staff and not the snotty twits who work at the Danieli.

I have no idea about having the hotel Danieli renovated into Four Season.
As per our experience, the room with lagoon vie is gorgeous, highly recommended. We had a balcony as well. The breakfast is delicious, top quality, not to mention the polite and friendly attitude of the staff. As about all other details, I would suggest you should call them directly.
Message the concierge of the hotel you are staying in and they’ll guide you. The Danieli arranged a private water taxi for us which was perfect.
