Detailed Reviews
Just back from the Hotel Wirtshaus Post late yesterday have had a 5 night stay at he Wirtshaus Post. Very good clean Hotel with good sized rooms and both room and bathroom very well equipped.Friendly courteous staff on both reception and at breakfast.
Kettle with Tea provided but no coffee [ don't know why?]. apple juice[ lovely] and water in mini fridge. Very good furniture and bedding along with a great bathroom with Monsoon and shampoo shower heads, no bath. Good soundproofing and no noise from late night arrivals, not disturbed at all when asleep, or in morning.
Breakfast very good, varied and of good quality.
Restaurant quality good, but being vegetarians we thought limited choice and portions far too small [kitchen please note] in relation to cost charged. But this did not detract from the fact that we would recommend this Hotel and definitely wish to book again next time we travel to the Tirol. .

The hotel is perfectly located in the centre of town - staff is extremely happy and helpful. The room was sparkling clean every day and had every comfort, from kettle, to water and lovely natural toiletries.
The hotel has a very nice wellness centre with 3 spas and turkish bath.
The restaurant is the best in town, lovely wine selection and cocktails to chill after a day on the slopes.
Breakfast was included in the price and always very fresh and high in standard.

I stayed in this hotel for a week on my first ever solo ski trip, booked as part of crystalski packaged holidays. For the little research I did in picking the place, I couldn't have chosen a better hotel to spend the week.
My room was spotlessly clean, as if it was prepared for a photo shoot every single day. The bed was comfortable allowing me to get that much needed rest and sleep after long ski days. Every little detail was taken care of, even the glass bottle of drinking water was filled every day as part of cleaning (most hotels just use a plastic bottle or do not bother filling it in after the first day).
The breakfast had both cold and hot items. Tasted great and fresh.
The spa was clean with three different saunas. I ended up using this every single day. On one particular day the staff was kind enough to let me use the facility past 10 pm (their closing time).
For someone who went there with little knowledge of the town and the ski area, I had no problem finding my way around. Thanks to the staff, and couple of friendly guests. You get to travel free in the train using the hotel's guest card. I had lost mine midweek, but the staff were kind enough to print me another at no extra cost.
The local ski area, Kitzbuhel, Wilder Kaiser, Fieberbrunn and Saalbach are close by . Tip:- ensure you get the 'super area ski pass' to access them all.
It was a dream vacation thanks to the hotel and their wonderful staff. I wish to return every single year and stay longer.

Couldn't speak highly enough 're the post hotel. Very central, clean, spacious and lovely staff. We stayed there for skiing in st Johann and it's only 5-10 min walk up to the gondola, 10mins if u have your ski boots on! We were welcomed with some punch from.receotiin and a very helpful and friendly lady at reception. The rooms are really spacious and clean and I think the hotel has been recently renovated.we had balconies in both rooms. The hotel is well insulated, you wouldn't hear any noise at night.comfortable twin beds beautiful shower, breakfast was lovely with a good selection(woukd have loved more mornings with bacon/crispy rashers!). We didn't eat there at night but heard good reviews 're it. We had a few drinks in the post bar the night we arrived. A large beer and a espresso martini came to 11euro which is not bad(by Irish prices!) There is a lovely teracce you can walk out onto if u need some fresh air. There is a boot room(didn't see it as we had our boots at ski hire place near the gondola) there is 3 saunas and a wellbeing room down stairs which was lovely and quiet.there is 2 treadmills and a rower too. No swimming pool but the local pool is only 5 mins walk away from hotel and the hotel give you a pass to use pool as many times as you like.(there is an ice skate rink there too) I loved the beautiful streets around st Johann. There are plenty of places to eat around st Johann and for 4 of us having Italian with beers and some dessert it was between 50-90 euros altogether to eat out. I would highly recommend the post hotel for its cleanliness, modern, spacious rooms with lovely staff. I will definatly be back!

Overall we had a fantastic experience at the Hotel Post. The staff were incredibly helpful in arranging our short overnight getaway, even moving our reservation to later in the week for us, despite the fact that we only asked on the morning of the original reservation. Once we were there, they were also great in helping us to plan how to spend our limited time, helping out with walking routes suited to us.
The hotel itself is a very lovely place to be, combining more modern styling with traditional Austrian Wirthaus style. Our room was in the new wing of the building. It was very spacious and reasonably well equipped as well as having a balcony which looked out onto some of the mountains surrounding Sankt Johann i.T. The rain shower in the bathroom was particularly nice.
The breakfast was a fairly standard continental buffet which I suspect won't live long in the memory but was fairly good quality. The buffet was however a little bit empty and could have done with being topped up. I would recommend ordering an omelette from the kitchen which was tasty.

We enjoyed a 2 night stay here end of February'20. A big plus is the covered garage with elevator to the rooms (+12€ per day) and the skiroom where materials can dry and be stored. Very traditional but nice restaurant, not too many vegetarian options but the food was nice. (Overall, I find after 25+ years in Austria that not many restaurants offer a large variety of vegetarian food, one can sometimes only choose one dish.) Service is swift and friendly, reception is very welcoming. Beautiful interior and very comfortable. Not cheap but it was a little splurge. Would love to go back !

My sister and I have just enjoyed a brilliant week at this hotel. Acknowledging that I am very picky I literally could not fault it. Everything was meticulously clean, the room had brilliant amenities and the hotel had thought of everything. We slept so well in the comfy beds and always looked forward to the breakfast, were they were really helpful to food intolerances which is so important to me as a coeliac.
The wellness area was the perfect place to unwind after a long day of skiing - and the hotel was centrally located to many ski links such as Saalbach and Kitzbühel.
Special mention to Nikolina on reception (and her colleagues who were equally lovely) who was always so friendly, polite and helpful - she is a real asset to the hotel and went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed.
Ps the hotel dog is adorable!!

Great Location, Great Breakfast and lovely Rooms. Have stayed here before and would again. My only negative comments would be that the website says €12 euros to park under the hotel but when you arrive its €15! And the reception staff could be a little more professional when asked enquiries.

relaxed family run boutique ski-hotel, service-minded and of eminent quality. It is located in the historic centre of St Johann in Tirol, with painted houses, amidst the beautiful Northern alps. It has a good sauna, a cosy yet modern beer stube, serving excellent wine and lager beer. Good quality beds in top level spacious rooms.

There’s no pool. Don’t worry though. The hotel will issue you with a pass for free entry to the town’s excellent Panorama swimming pool complex.
Hope that helps.
