He is in the wrong profession. Go get a shave (you work at a damn military college but look homeless) and a win. Getting heckled by fans is part of being a player, a coach, and a fan. Walk away. Maybe the 4th Class System at Norwich led to tears, but at The Citadel, we suck it up and bulldog on. We don't throw a tantrum and walk out of a press conference after 3 minutes. Sounds to me like a guy who needed to get back to house-hunting on Zillow rather than a coach with confidence. He brought in 23 mercenaries and gutted the team. How is that working out? It isn't. The boo-birds will only get worse if you lose to a no-win, interim coach at Wofford.

I will say, to anyone heckling a college player, choke yourself out, gutless wonder. Leave the kids alone. The paid employees are fair game.

NIL change that for you or no?

Serious question.

FUBeAR has always felt the same, but is unsure if Players, with NIL deals, are now ‘fair game’ & subject to the same level of verbal “encouragement” as the “paid employees.”

I wasn’t at the game….but I’ve talked and communicated with a lot of people who were there and no one saw or heard what he’s talking about.

Not saying it didn’t happen but I will say any alum/grad/fan that would talk trash to a player is a scumbag,

Good question. Hmmm. If a player is cashing in on his NIL, he is a professional player IMHO, so also fair game. But still, play stupid games, win stupid prizes. That heckled kid may not have the same restraint as an experienced coach. He may pop you in the mouth.

Nothing good comes from approaching a coach with your frustrations after a loss at any level.   Emotions are too hot at that moment.  Berating or Belittling the coach or the players is also bush league. Yes, the coach gets paid and the players are on scholarship but that is not a free pass for someone to act like a jackass after a game.   The person should have vented his frustration in a forum or write the AD rather than create an unfortunate scene that is completely classless.  I thought the crowd was very respectful and supportive at the game so I don’t think this person is reflective of most of the fans.

More bothersome is his tantrum a day later quitting his press conference after 3 minutes. How incredibly disrespectful of the media who traveled to the press conference as well as to any others who attended. I guess he heard "There's still time to quit" and he took it to heart. If this is the example he is setting, then time to call the moving trucks.

Some members of the BOV are concerned the Capaccio does not have the contacts or network to hire a good football coach.  Glen Walters hired the guy without asking anyones opinion.  It will be up to Gen. Walters to fix it...FAST.

Wasn't at the game before either. Not really leading the way, is he?

He was NOT hired by Walters. He was hired by Sams. Well, to be fair, he was hired by the de facto President, Jay Dowd of TCF, after blowing $50K on a search firm. Hire a puppet, you get a puppet.

Hey so the BOV has concerns….
Why aren’t they voicing them? They’re like….well…..you know….. the Board of Visitors.
I’d agree that the AD’s experience with hiring a football coach or understanding football is little to none. He’s a basketball guy. But then again. Not the greatest at that. Call Brad Brownell at Clemson if you doubt what’s being said.
Used to be an AD and School President were at every game. Home and away. AD Is awol a lot. Supposedly off “fundraising.” Or a pre planned hunting trip. Or the dog ate his homework. Take your pick.
At any rate I know this forum got shut down for negativity. But I don’t know how you make positive comments about the AD slot right now when it comes to our 3 major mens sports.
Yeah the Women’s sports are doing well. I’m proud of them. But the revenue and fundraising efforts won’t go up being carried by women's sports. It’s not being sexist. It’s fact.
We need our big 3 sports to be better. And right now they’re as bad as I’ve ever seen them.

And I want to note that getting after a coach or player doesn’t make sense. It isn’t productive. It will not change anything. So it’s best to just go kick the trash can at your tailgate post game to get your frustrations out.

I get the frustration. Plenty of folks in here that are invested heavily with TCBF dues, CFA donations, and season tickets (or club or suite.) When it goes like this it’s easy to feel like you lit the cash you donated on fire.
