Ever since Horseshoe Baltimore Casino launched its retail Caesars Sportsbook in December 2021, the launch of a Caesars Sportsbook app in Maryland was been a certainty.

As one of the state’s larger casinos, Horseshoe Baltimore has a Class A-1 sports betting license, which requires an initial payment of $2 million and a $500,000 renewal payment every five years. History of Horseshoe Casino Baltimore

In 2013, the Maryland Lottery Commission approved Caesars Entertainment to operate a casino in downtown Baltimore. On August 26, 2014, the two-story Horseshoe Casino Baltimore opened its doors. The property currently has the second-largest casino floor in Maryland.

Located on Russell Street, the casino is situated near multiple professional sports venues. Both M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Ravens, and Camden Yards, home of the Orioles are nearby. Horseshoe Casino is also close to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.

Caesars Entertainment has a long history. The company is different today than what it was back in 2014 when it opened Horseshoe Baltimore. Caesars merged with Eldorado Resorts in 2020. While the parent company has a new CEO and other executives, it’s called Caesars and still owns and operates Horseshoe Baltimore Casino.
