We took bus #20 from the center of Wikiki (Kūhiō and Seaside) to the swap meet. The ride took 1 hour. It was hot on the black flat top but luckily we had clouds passing over on occasion. Lots of repeat items on the outer circle and yard sale stuff on the inner circle. Ate lunch at the food trucks under the shade of trees. Bought fresh cut guava, coconut, papaya and mango. Got to the bottom of the mango a couple days later and the seed was at the bottom- felt scammed :(Visited April 2023Traveled with familyWritten May 6, 2023
- Leslie H5 contributionsGreat swap martI went on a Wednesday and it was still a huge presentation of lots of really good items. One of the best places for Hawaiian fashion, reasonable prices, and lots of beautiful art items. It's easy to get to via the bus. Just kind of a long ride but well worth it. Go early cuz it does get warm. Lots of funVisited July 2023Traveled soloWritten July 14, 2023
- Bex ISilverdale, New Zealand159 contributionsWorth a visit! We drive here from Waikiki, found parking easy and there was plenty if it. Entrance was $2 pp. basically outside market around the outside of stadium. Has markets, secondhand and found stalls. It is hot however plenty of places to buy cold drinks and food. It was a great place to buy Hawaiian souvenirs, we bought 6 tee shirts for $20. There are restrooms available. We spent a couple of hours, though stalls do start to get a bit repetitive. A must to do on your visit.Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 16, 2023
- EricInSFLos Angeles, California233 contributionsA good time, lots of repetitive vendors, but still some interesting findsIt was a fun way to spend a few hours in the afternoon. But shade is rare and it can get hot! Lots of vendors, but you will quickly notice that it's several of the same vendors, over-and-over again. Still some great finds. Very friendly sellers. And, something different from the typical tourist activities. I'd go back, but don't need to visit on every visit to OahuVisited June 2023Traveled with familyWritten August 7, 2023
- Karen H7 contributionsAloha StadiumYour typical flea market. Nice to walk around and look for inexpensive Hawaiian souvenirs. Nominal fee to enter 2$ per person which I assume helps pay for the facilities. They allow you to use the stadium bathrooms which are better then a porta potty.Visited September 2023Traveled with familyWritten September 17, 2023
- Patrick G10 contributionsLoved walking around and looking at everythingBiggest flea market I've ever been to. Has a little of something for everyone. The tshirt vendor on the left when you enter on the back side is the best! They are friendly and have Gildan brand shirts 6 for $20. Be sure to check out Names All Day for handmade leather bracelets! This was my favorite vendor!!Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten November 5, 2023

Some booths are like garage sale items. It was hot the day we went could have some shade options for shoppers. Food trucks were great but need more tables to enjoy the food.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 17, 2023

Visited the Flea Market on a Saturday...and it is big. My wife and I went a little later in the morning and found some of the vendors already closing up. But there were still plenty of vendors left.
The Marketplace wraps completely around the stadium. If you are looking for souvenirs...this is the place. After visiting a luau earlier in the week, and purchasing a souvenir there, we saw the identical item here at a 1/4 of the price. Oh Well.
That being said...THIS is the place to do your souvenir shopping.

The Swap Meet is basically a lot of vendors set up in the parking lot of the arena, all the way around. It takes a long time to do the full circuit. Don't count on food or drinks or washrooms. It's worth spending a couple of hours, especially if you want souvenirs. I saw the same bags being sold for 2 to 3 times the price at other shops, and regretted not getting more at the Swap Meet. And folks, no need to book a tour to do this! We got there easily by bus and then you just walk around on your own at your own pace.

If you can make room for this in your schedule you should! My teenage girls and myself arrived just as it was opening and enjoyed a pleasant couple of hours browsing and buying. Many of the booths are local artisans who had hand made the goods they are selling. By 10:30 it was starting to get crowded and was less enjoyable but by then we were ready to go. We had maybe only seen a quarter of it but it was enough. Such fun!

We went on a Wednesday and stayed about 5 hours. I would estimate about 80% or more of the items being sold are imported. It was hard to find made in Hawaii items which is what we were looking for.
There was next to no food or drink vendors except near the washrooms.
All being said you can find the same items here for cheaper than those being sold in Waikiki, some by alot cheaper. But again it's imported stuff which to me is not what a souvenir should be.

We did the Wednesday swap meet and spent two to three hours walking around. I'd say that the swap meet we went to extended only about half way around the stadium but it was sufficient to find a variety of merchandise. Yes, there is a lot of repetitive types of stalls and merchants but there are many gems in between offering unique food products, handmade, one of a kind jewelry at very reasonable and affordable prices. We found a man who sold beautiful hand painted shell jewelry in lots of different sizes depicting Hawaiian scenes. We loved his work and purchased several for Christmas gifts. We bought coffee, local honey and picked up some beautiful hand-carved tikis made by locals versus the cheap junk that is made in Vietnam. We try to avoid the mass produced crap and look for made in Hawaii products including Hawaiian shirts and we did find many vendors who had "Made in Hawaii" products. The prices here are a third of what you would pay in over-priced Waikiki. We loved our visit here and had so much fun. Bring lots of shopping bags and bring back one of a kind items that you will always treasure!

This shopping excursion about 20 minutes from our hotel was well with it. Still not accustomed to the time change we got to the market 30 minutes after it opened which got us a jump start on the crowds and the heat. Lots of cheap t shirts and stuff but the really great finds were from local artists and crafters. We spent about 3 hours wondering through the vendors and checked a few gifts off our list.

This place is massive. We went on a Wednesday morning. It was raining a little bit so it wasn't very crowded. Parking was easy. We walked the whole thing but didn't really go into many of the shops. A lot of them have the same products. There were some fruit stands, most selling pre cut fruit vs whole fruit. Lots of sticker stands, T shirts, musical instruments and trinkets. I was hoping for more local artist. When we left around 11am, the sun had come out and it was getting much busier. Can imagine this place is packed on the weekend in the summer. We spent almost 1 hour here going pretty quick.

Very Hot got there around 11am and in the middle of the day its sweltering. Take water as the cost of a bottle of water is $6 USD. Not a lot of shade so wear a hat. Lots of vendors selling a lot of souvenirs, clothing and stuff. the general goods youll find at the markets. Much cheaper than the stores in Waikiki if you want trinkets and hawaiian clothing. A good place to spend a few hours. Cash Preferred and Kona coffee at a good prices.

If you are looking for cheap imported souvenirs, imported from China and the Philippines, then this is the place for you. Rows and rows of vendors carrying the same products all ranging within a few dollars from one another. If you are looking to support local artists there are very few here. But those local artists are worth finding, and appreciate that you chose them.

The food was good though, that truck with the fried rice and egg on top called the sunrise dish. All other ‘locally made things were from kits I’ve seen the soap with a luffa sponge for sale on line and I know the dresses were imported. I guess the families were kinda desperate after covid so I understand if everything wasn’t as usual therefore 4 stars

Is it just cash only here please?

It might depend on the vendor? I was there in January 2023 and every person we bought from took credit cards.

Its open Wed Sat from 8am - 3pm and Sun 6:30am-3pm. I recommend going early because some vendors close early like around 1pm
Is there a way you can buy items online somehow? I am in Virginia and I went to the Swap Meet twice while in HI for 2 weeks. I loved it. But I didn't have a lot of time to check everything.

Yes and no. These are independent vendors and some have websites, but you would have to know the name of the company or web address. Even if you do, prices are higher than what they charge at the Stadium and you have to pay sales tax and shipping from Hawaii to the mainland, which is expensive.
We DEFINITELY want to go to the swap meet, but need to figure out the best way to do it between the time our cruise ship docks and getting to the airport. 7:30-1:30. We will have our luggage.

You don’t want to drag around your luggage. I agree that you should try to get the cruise ship to help you. Or why don’t you take your luggage to the airport and check it in, then go to the swap meet. If you have carryons with wheels that will be ok at the swap meet. It’s a paved parking lot.

I read in the reviews that you should not park in section A B C or D or you'll be towed. That was an older post--is that still true?

Sorry I don't know as I took the bus. If I recall correctly there were people in the parking lot taking money to park so perhaps you can ask them.

Could you name the jewelry merchants? I bought multi strand beaded bracelets, with wooden clasps I would like more.

I have no idea. I’d like to get a hold of someone I bought something from too and can’t seem to get any contact info.
