We had a fantastic time today doing a swamp tour. We saw so many different swamp critters and Captain Hunter was equal parts knowledgeable and entertaining! Highly recommend!

The swamp tour was fantastic and the guide incredibly knowledgeable. This was the third swamp tour I've been on and definitely the best.

If you want to learn a lot, laugh a lot, and see some beautiful sights, this is the tour for you!

My friend and I went on the 11:30am swamp tour for Labor Day weekend. The tour itself is about an hour and 45 minutes long. We saw it all from turtles, alligators, herons, and more!

To take the tour is $29 for an adult with a military discount of $24. You do have to pay IN CASH so keep that in mind.

The tour host, Captain Paul, was very funny but also a great teacher. We learned a lot and had a fun time.

Took this tour reluctantly on the advice of friends. So very glad we did! Capt Kyle was our guide and was very knowledgeable. The Pearl River is interesting and the swamp areas, even more so. There is a peaceful beauty to the area. Lots of trees, plants, and animals. Capt Kyle was very good at finding gators, racoons, snakes, and birds. I have never been a fan of gators or snakes, but there is something special about seeing them in the wild. We got lots of photos and even more memories. Would highly recommend going on this tour!

Great, two hour tour along the Old Pearl River and it's swampy offshoots. We saw lots of alligators, birds, and raccoons. No wild hogs, unfortunately.

We did see multiple alligators "jump" for marshmallows, about 2/3 of their bodies rising out of the water to snap the treat, which was both cool but also felt very staged... like a dolphin show at SeaWorld kind of. My kids ate it up, but my favorite aspect of the tour was actually hearing about growing up on the bayou, how the river has changed as a consequence of the surrounding development, and the life of people who still occupy the floating houses along the river, many of which are decrepit. The tour guide was knowledgeable and knew that area like the back of his hand. I'm not sure there was any question about those swamps he couldn't answer!

One thing I'd note: the best seats in the house are definitely the ones near the guide. Also, I'm not sure if this was a fluke or if it's easier to turn the boat in one direction, but every single alligator and racoon "trick" was done on the side of the boat to the guide's right. It's not a big boat, so everyone on there could definitely see, but if you're strategically looking for the best spot for your short little kids, I would choose the seats at the back of the boat that face forward (behind the guide) or get as close to the guide as you can (and possibly aim for his right).

Perhaps the most amazing thing we saw on the tour was not all the alligators, but all the people INNERTUBING on the river right next to them! I guess those guys snap up enough marshmallows every day to leave the legs of little seven year olds swimming in the water alone.

Cute little gift shop - reasonably priced souvenirs. Cash only for everything.

Nice tour! Beautiful setting. Saw lots and lots of alligators! Trees sweeping over the water was so picturesque. Guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Learned a lot about local area outside of New Orleans from the driver on the way there too!

This is an amazing swamp, and our guide, Chris, was knowledgeable and helpful. He did a great job answering questions and responding to the group. We saw lots of birds, learned about apple snails and other invasive species, and saw raccoons, alligators, and even a feral hog. The cypress and tupelo trees are spectacular. This would be a five star tour if the tour guides didn't feed the wildlife. I would much rather see wildlife at a distance or not at all than to have guides throw marshmallows to attract wildlife- which is just poor practice and anyone really interested in wildlife and conservation knows that this is bad for the animals' welfare. Please consider not making this standard practice on your tours!

Feral hog. Interesting to see, but please don't feed these!
