We are thrilled to hear that you had a great stay with us. As a relatively new establishment, being only two years old, we take pride in maintaining our rooms to the highest standards. Our housekeeping and maintenance staff work tirelessly to ensure that every room is in pristine condition for our guests. We carry out deep cleaning of the rooms regularly and also set up preventative maintenance schedules to ensure that everything is in proper working order by the time you arrive. We hope to see you again in the future.

Newly opened with just a few minor kinks-to be expected but with a well trained staff, gorgeous and comfortable rooms and a well trained staff.

Super friendly and well trained staff and a nice restaurant bar.
The location is really perfect with easy access to The airport, downtown San Diego and all of the attractions.

Some light construction work was happening in the lobby but there was no noise.

I came here to do a little bit of work and my only gripe was the wicker chair that accompanied the Saarinen style desk was really uncomfortable for more than 10min.

I got room #341 which is on the quieter harbor side. The room size was very large with two queen beds.

The decor was really nice a combo of Mediterranean and Hygge. Gorgeous tiles and a walk in shower. A tub would have been nice for the size of the bathroom.

Linens and towels were standard Hilton.

There is a small stool in the bath to sit.

The bedroom was spacious and had a nice corner view of the harbour. You are walking distance to Point Loma Seafood (good fish and chips!).

Parking is all Valet but when I was here I was able to find street parking which is non-metered and free.

The restaurant had a very contemporary California cafe breakfast menu with avocado toast and a really good granola fruit bowl. The food was small restaurant quality and much better than most Hilton brand restaurants. The coffee was from local roaster Dark Horse.

The restaurant which is open late and has a nice bar also has a gorgeous patio area it’s not huge and there’s no pool but it’s very inviting.

My actual only gripe is the wicker desk chair that is extremely uncomfortable past 10 minutes. If you were working remote as am I you’ll wanna throw a folded up towel or puffy jacket to pad that chair.

Otherwise a super nice time here in a goegeous, clean and thoroughly modern hotel amongst a strip of non-descript motels.

I have Diamond status and didn't receive an upgraded room (although there seemed to be plenty for sale still on the website), but I did receive an early check in at 12:30pm, so I was happy with that! It's a nice, modern boutique hotel and very clean.

The restaurant was okay. I used the $12.00 daily credit there for breakfast one morning, which wasn't enough to cover the breakfast sandwich and $6 orange juice. Location is good if you want some distance from the busier parts of SD. I enjoyed walking around the dock and boats area.

A few negatives: The heater didn't work very well. The bathroom fan was loud and ran constantly without a way to turn it off. I could hear the people in the room above me stomping around in the morning (So, make sure you get a top floor room if you stay there.) The gym was small and limited. Some of the staff were unfriendly.

No airport shuttle, but Lyft and Uber rides to the airport are fast and just over $10.

I was only in town for two days and I wanted to stay closer to the water than the city. The Monsaraz caught my eye, so I booked it based on some of the pictures and location. I arrived with my rental car which was taken by valet. I was given a ticket to call it as needed.

Once inside, there was a small check-in desk and I was greeted warmly by the person at the desk. I was given my key to a room on the 2nd floor and walked over to the elevator. The hotel is not very large, so the room was quick to walk to. The rooms are definitely unique, but smaller than I expected. The bed was comfortable and it was clean. The bathroom was also nicely decorated and had good water pressure, but the water was not as hot as I would have liked. The room came with a small coffee maker and refrigerator below it.

As a diamond member, I was given a credit to use for food which doesn't cover the whole cost of breakfast, but it was still a credit. I did walk around the area and there are some decent restaurants and a grocery store down the street. I found the hotel met my basic needs, but I would say it was a special or great hotel.

We had booked an Airbnb in Southpark that was not up to the usual standard. Our son who lives in Little Italy found the Monsaraz. He reserved a room for us from the main Hilton telephone line. When we arrived we were most graciously welcomed by Maggie. She did not see our reservation though and did not have a room. We showed her our confirmation email and explained it had been booked only 30 minutes before. Maggie then got to work. She was so very kind and seemed on a mission to do whatever was needed to take care of us and she did! Not sure if she had a room cleaned on the spot or found one with availability for night one night, because we had reserved for the week. She explained she would continue to work to get us situated, but we had a room for the night and might have to move to another in the morning. Some time later in the evening, Maggie came to our room to let us know she moved things around and we could stay in the room for the remainder of our visit. We were so grateful and Maggie was an outstanding example of true customer service. During the week we saw Maggie going the extra mile for other guests and we had to smile. Clearly Maggie loves what she does. Maggie is wonderful asset to the Monsaraz; truly a great ambassador for the hotel. Our room was clean, well appointed, modern and very comfortable. Breakfast was also very good. The egg white and pesto plate was delicious. The outdoor dining area was very nice too. A shout out is also necessary for the valet team! Each one of those fellas knew who we were after day one, and we were always greeted with big smiles. They were all so respectful and polite. Every one of them ran to get our car every time. We kept telling them no need to run, but they all ran every time! I wish we had noted everyone's name. Rodolfo was so sweet. but they were ALL awesome. The valet team are also ambassadors for the hotel. Their service was Ritz level. The location was perfect for us. Away from the busy downtown area, but a short drive to downtown; 10 minutes to Little Italy; a bit more with traffic. We would definitely recommend the hotel and will certainly book again for our next time in San Diego.

Our stay turned out okay but the check in process was a horrible experience for us. Perhaps we’ve just been very lucky but we have never had a reserved room sold out from under us. When we arrived at hotel we were told room was no longer available (someone extended their stay and they were in the room that we would have been given). We had reserved a double queen balcony room with marina view. They first offered a king room which wouldn’t work for us because we had our 18 year old granddaughter with us. Then a two queen no balcony or view room. We were not happy (angry) and the staff was openly annoyed with us and told us they would waive cancellation penalty if we wanted to cancel and look elsewhere. After several minutes of back and forth, somehow miraculously a room identical to what we had reserved became available. The manager said that he moved a Diamond member so we could have the room even though we are just silver members. I found that to be a very unnecessary comment. We may not be Diamond but we are usually greeted warmly and thanked for being a Hilton Honors member. No welcome greeting here.
All that aside the hotel was lovely and in the perfect location for us to go back and forth to our granddaughters campus and many other locations around the city.
A couple of things… most of which have been mentioned in other reviews
The bathroom door is a louvered barn door so doesn’t offer the privacy that some may wish to have when taking care of business. There is no side table on one side of each bed. I would’ve loved to have a small narrow table to place my glasses and phone.
The valet parking was mandatory unless you are lucky enough to find a spot on the street. No self parking allowed in the garage.
Restaurant is expensive (San Diego is definitely higher cost than my city) and appeared to be short staffed (at least the one time we went) but the flatbread we shared was delicious.
Rooms are a little small but a balcony adds a perfect amount of extra room!
Location is great!

Terrible hotel in a shady location.

Very underwhelming for the price. In-house restaurant was closed for several of the nights I stayed there and there is still no housekeeping.

The street noise was loud and I could hear people talking across the street late at night. The internet was also slow and the desk chair was uncomfortable rattan.

There is no parking lot at this hotel, valet only at $35/night although it seems they park your car on the street.

I parked after 10pm in an open spot on the street and get a call after 11 pm saying I parked in their valet when the valet was already closed for the night. I thought the front desk was rude when I checked in and it was confirmed by their tone when I spoke to them.

I couldn't sleep the rest of the night and had to get up early for work so I checked out at 5am the next day, a day early since I didn't feel comfortable staying there anymore.

When they sent me my bill they charged me for the second night although I didn't even use their valet service. I had to call them to get that charge removed. Easily the worst hotel I've stayed at for work, choose someplace else.

The rooms are modern and have multiple plugs for your travel items. The only tech issue we had was that the TV is so flush to the wall, you cannot plug in an HDMI cord and there is not Netflix option to log in.
The restaurant and bar downstairs are priced well especially for being in a hotel with good quality food and drinks and great places to talk with friends.
The bathroom while well lit with great toiletries, has large containers affixed to the wall. Great for the environment but sadly, I discovered during my first shower the body wash was empty. It took 2 phone calls to resolve as they didn't refill it when they made up the room despite me saying they don't have to do anything other than refill the bottle when I was gone for the day. After this though, the hotel was a relaxing and comfortable location to spend the weekend.

I am so thankful I stumbled upon this amazing hotel. It’s just 15 minutes from the convention center. Iattended a conference and the other hotel was completely booked. I found this amazing hotel and booked my stay. From the moment Igor to the hotel, I was so thankful to be away from it all. The valet who parked my car was so friendly and then when I entered the hotel, I was delighted by beautiful decor and the most friendly front desk person, Mr. Brown was able to accommodate a king room request and was so friendly while checking me in. It was shift change and he introduced me to Ms. Sandra who took amazing care of me for the rest of my stay. Such a warm and welcoming hotel, I will not stay anywhere else when I come to San Diego. It’s close to the airport, the naval base, and lots of great attractions. Plus, just down the road is Shelter Island width the most amazing views of the San Diego skyline, especially at night! Do not look anywhere else for the perfect hotel, pick this one!

The styling of this hotel is very contemporary, not warm and cozy feeling. It encourages dogs and there were several. There is a nice courtyard with live music and people sit there with their dogs. We went there for breakfast but left before we could order as the only two wait staff were busy making drinks at the bar. We went one block to a nice donut shop. Starbucks and a local coffee shop are also close by. Room was nice and quiet and had a large shower. Valet parking your car is $30/night. Very limited street parking. Neighborhood looks very 1950s. We took an Uber to the airport late morning and it was more than $35 altho we were probably 3 miles away. No airport shuttle. Other hotels in the area are old.
