One’s true home is where one’s affections are centered. This particular expression was listed in Elbert Hubbard’s A Thousand and One Epigrams (1914) but had been known for centuries before that. According to Burton Stevenson, several authorities attribute it to the Roman writer Pliny. See also home, sweet home.
